Is it true that meshes load once and if you have like 10 of the same meshes it generates the same lag? And what do you prefer?

So is it true that a mesh is the same as 10 of the same meshes and produce the same lag, and do you prefer Unioning a football field with around 30 parts or meshing it?

Think of it as this:

If you got something with the same ID, you can essentially just load one ID, and all the others will load in.

If you have different IDs, you have to load each ID.

Meshes allow for more flexibility with faces/doesn’t corrupt as much as Unions do .
Unions is fast but can lag fairly quickly if done incorrectly and imo, is worst than meshes lol.

Should I union 15 parts or mesh it, they have different colors.
