Hello, I was browsing roblox games and I’m seeing that many RPGs games are not in front page anymore.
RPGs are kinda “OP” looking at effects for most games but the game repetitive LONG dungeon raiding is making it less fun. Players usually find it too boring to re-start the same dungeon for 20-30 times before getting a new one so it’s hard to keep a constant daily players.
I’m personally working on a Open World RPG similar to World of Warcraft and RuneScape and MMORPGs like them. Is it worth it? Well it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I personally loved playing MMORPGs when growing up and even now and I’m using them as a inspiration to help me make a RPG game that I would want to play. Of course I plan on monetizing it but it still needs to be interesting and fun for players. So the reason I’m doing it is because I enjoy those kind of games and I hope to be successful with it.
Though your reasons may be different and RPG styled games can take so many different forms. It’s hard to answer if it’s worth to make a RPG game on Roblox because you never know if it will be successful without trying it. Though through heavy planning and testing, you will figure out what’s a good idea and not. If there’s an audience for it and you offer something different and interesting compared to others, you may be successful. Plan, Prototype, Create and Test is my advice to make a good game.
RPG games do take a lot of resources to make. At least high-quality ones do. Any game is worth it to make but for profit, there are better choices. The scripting, building, effects, and music has to be high tier. If you have the resources and plans to make a unique feature or feel, it is definitely worth it!
