Is Layering Really Important?

So every Photoshop user or other external Image Software user knows about layering and use it but the Question is Why is it important? just need because I have been wondering why is it so useful for other people

Layering is important due to its flexibility to manage details on images, without affecting fore- and background or adjacent details. With such flexibility, this allows the artist more freedom to manipulate the appearance.

Layers are the basis of non-destructive editing, meaning that you can more easily manipulate parts of your project or go back without being stuck with things that you can’t recover

Usually you need to layer in case you want to change the design, or outline. If you clumped it all in one layer, you can’t fix it. It’s also helpful when you want to apply specific tones, opacity, or blur. It would be messed up if applied it to the particular layer you stacked everything on. It would ruin the whole thing.
