Is making a single-player simulator suggested?

Sorry if this is the wrong topic, I was unsure whether to create a draft in the development discussion category or here.

Basically, I’m making a simulator, but the idea is that it’s mean to be single-player.
It’s a diving simulator game, so basically you spend your desired currency on upgrades for your character, before sending your character to dive.

The thing is though, I’m not sure how people feel about a single player simulator, and what people prefer. So the question is, should I create it so its single player, or should I make it multiplayer, but with a plot system to allocate the player to a certain spot

I recommend making it multiplayer (6-10 players). This will create competition and make the players stay longer so they can flex on others.

If you make it single player then the players might get board quicker than usual.
I’m just suggesting and should not influence your final decision.

You can make it single-player, but it’d be much better off with multiplayer.

One of the biggest parts of simulator games is competition; people love to compete with each other to reach the top of a leaderboard. This is also a great way to give players an incentive to play.

I’ve tried out a bunch of simulator games in places like the AppStore and more or less all of them were single-player. The only competition was against myself to beat high-scores, and it wasn’t very good incentive hence why I deleted them all after 5 minutes.

Probably multiplayer. Way I see it, competition is the only thing that keeps a simulator alive nowadays.

I see your point, well. I will make it multiplayer
