Is making a successful game possible without ads?

I’m currently making a game with a friend and i’ve been stressing alot thinking about the game not doing well and just being a waste of time, i’ve seen people say all over the devforum that you need ads to make a successful game and i don’t know where to find the money to sponsor my game.

Here are my questions:

Where would i find the money to sponsor my game?
How much robux/cash do people spend on ads? (on average)
Are there any alternatives to make people know about my game? (i know you could make a youtuber play it)

There’s so many games on roblox. If you don’t promo your game, there is 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance to someone see your game. Best option - unique name etc.

Promo your game to see results. Actually (more players [even 50], there’s chance to get new player)
More visits, game will go higher. There is a lot that can be said about this, but it seems obvious that among so many games, a game promo is the only option.

  1. You have to search. If the game is not good enough and you do not seem authentic and the sponsor is not sure whether it is profitable for him, he probably won’t make it.

  2. I think something around 5-10k robux for 10 days of advertising. The game may gain many new players.

  3. You can post on the Roblox DevForum about the news of creating a new (your) game. Describe it as best as you can and encourage them to play. You can also post on reddit, tell your friends and they can promote too. You can spam in other games the same way. Send the game link to your friends on Roblox.

There are many ways, but to get many players it will take a lot of time, bearing in mind that not everyone will like this game, not everyone will play at the same time. And that’s what’s most important. Ask for like, follow, favorite and join the group if you have one.
You can build a community and expand the advertising of the game.
You could add rewards to the game for liking and joining a group, and an average of 3/10 players could always join (the result comes out of nowhere, but I suspect less than half will join the group)

Hi
Regarding ’ You could add rewards to the game for liking …’ how do you know if someone liked your game? I thought you could not tell who thumbed up or down a game, unless you are talking about something else.

In which category would i do that?

I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure there is a discord for roblox investors or something. Try joining roblox dev discord servers and some might have looking for investors channels.

From what I’ve seen, to actually make a good impression, around 10k-100k (I’m not sure though)

Social media platforms, sponsoring content creators to try your games, etc…

The thing is, although ad’s are very helpful to boost the player count of your game, it’s not always guaranteed that those people will stay. There are some games that didn’t have any ads but got popular because of their unique gameplay. Having a unique gameplay also counts in the success of a game.

There’s many API to check it. For example Bedwars have this feature and other games like ps99 and psx

Maybe I worded the sentence wrong. For the rest, I agree.

no, there is no chance. you have to promote it in some way. The best way is to make youtube shorts, tiktoks, or any short video as those people have a large craving for entertainment

There are many ways, but you have to want to i guess.

yes you are correct. you could even put up posters on the street light if you wanted too  .

I wanted to, but it didn’t work out. Coming back, I mean that a lot of people give up because they don’t see results after a few days. If you want the game to be successful, and you don’t have the funds or you don’t want to spend money, then you need to spend a lot of time.
