Is this a good icon to be used for my game.
I spent like around 20 - 30 minutes editing this and i feel like it turned out alright, but i would still like to hear your opinion. Thanks
wow its nice, in my opinion is a basic icon but looks good.
could you improve the text of "DEVXR’S DIFFICULTY CHART OBBY
good job
Maybe lessen the space of the apostrophe in DevXR and S, plus instead of that colorful sign in the side, maybe add something that may represent an obby, or your avatar or a Roblox character doing an obby in the side, or the emblem of the obby, however it does look good.
The sign is the chart. Its basically a chart that represents the difficulty length. Im pretty sure it does represent the game as the literal point of it is a difficulty chart of obbies getting harder
It does look interesting and maybe I am mistaken, however to make it more like a chart, add some pretend graphs like from easy to hard, or some lines, and also just a little attention to detail maybe make the chart have a more straighter detail.
I feel like the top text “DEVXR’S” text color is too bright. Maybe change it into turquoise?
Perhaps, have the pillar a darker shade of white, just to give it some more personality. Other than that, it works. It’s basic but It gets the job done.
Oh yea, I also managed to see that issue, still thanks for pointing it out. Doing it by hand isnt the best since my hands arent that steady anyway.
If you want a full on opinion of what I think of the icon from a developer standpoint and an artistic one:
-
Top part of the text blends with the outline and makes the test rather obnoxious and painful to read, I recommend selecting a different color that contrasts with white as the top gradient part.
-
From my understanding, the side thing is meant to be the said “Chart”, however, I would suggest doing it differently - From current, it is not really clear that it’s a “Difficulty Chart”, follow what Paul suggested, he basically worded my concerns there.
-
I think the Background should not at all have the same color as the text - “Why?” - You want the icon to have contrast, you want the background to “POP!” and give the text itself that very visible spotlight.
-
Lastly, I recommend not only going for bright shades when it comes to the text and the background itself, play with it a little, make the entire thing have those contrasting hues and shades rather than one still brightness, it’ll make the icon look so much better!
And most importantly: Here’s a small conceptual tip!
As it’s a “Difficulty Chart” Obby game, why not make the Icon/Logo a few characters jumping across a Chart/Graph ? - This could also work!
Didnt expect to get a full fledged feedback of everything but really thanks. As of right now im changing the text to stand out rather than merge with the background. For the characters you mentioned, i may just make a seperate icon and add it to the game as an update. Thanks again
As a developer myself, I can see how hard it is to get full-fledged opinions and ways to improve when you’re not precisely sure on what direction to take things, but I am glad to have helped you and help you figure where to take the current icon!
And of course, you’re welcome!
Try possibly adding some shading for the chart.
It’s pretty neat. One thing I would recommend though is that you could name each difficulty color, helps make the game more in-depth.
