The reason I would want to do this is because without this security measure it essentially makes banning people useless, they can simply keep creating alternate accounts.
I’ve seen cafe groups and such like Frappé do it, however I have been told that it’s not allowed. However, Frappé seems to be doing just fine.
Could anyone clarify if it abides by the TOS or not?
Thanks in advance
Adding on, asking for real age is a violation of Roblox ToS - you can’t ask for personal information like that. This includes asking if they’re 13+ or not (though you can figure this out yourself with the filter, this is still not permitted)
Banning users under a certain age was disallowed back when Guests were implemented due to needing to make an open and fair playing environment for everyone, as some games were banning guests. Nowadays, that rule rests in a gray area and as mentioned above, it’s not officially allowed.
You should never have a need to disallow accounts under a certain age anyway. Age-based bans is a band-aid solution against bad actors with new accounts. You should actively be attempting to fix your game and handle what you can from your end.
The latter point makes me worry you’re talking about the age of the player, rather than their account. This is not a grey area - this in direct breach of Roblox’s data protection policies, and you will get moderated for it.
uwu
You all seem to get the wrong idea, he’s not talking about the player’s age, he’s talking about thr account age ( when the account was created ), Which obviously should be allowed tbh
There is a game that’s been doing it for over 4 years and they never got in trouble for it sooo
though I am not 100% sure
I’m aware of what OP was talking about, I was more worried about @UndecidedFactor as his post implies that he is talking about player age, as it is much harder to falsify account age
