All the information to learn to program is free and easily obtained through simple google searches. Why waste money on a class thats not gonna teach you anything more than a youtube video. In fact a lot of coding classes will just directly send you to youtube videos to begin with. Just self learn its a lot easier, you go at your own pace, and its free.

Thanks for the Information will put it in mind!

Nowadays, pretty much anyone can learn to script if they commit to it. There are countless resources out there that include and are not limited to the Roblox Lua API, youtube, search engines, and books (yes there are books for Lua). I would not recommend anyone to pay for Lua classes. Lua is easy to pick up on when you have free resources right in front of you.

Unless you have a difficult time learning without a tutor/teacher, I would just teach yourself.

Many different tutorials on youtube and one of the best ways to teach yourself to code is opening free models, not actually using them but seeing how the scripts works.

You can learn through friends.Internet like dev forum or developer.hub also there is a lua learning game on roblox .All free but as good as classes

It depends, tutors can help you learn much faster and develop a teaching method specifically for you. That’s their job to help you learn as fast as possible with up to date and correct information. However, if you don’t need extra assistance of a personalized teaching method then it doesn’t really make a lot of sense.

It is definitely possible to learn without classes, I have never taken a class in lua and I have a great understanding of Lua. However, I do recommend watching / reading tutorials, I never watched one until two years ago and until then I was progressing quite slowly.

Hello Everyone!
Thanks for Voting!
I will NOT pay for coding classes!

Thanks Again!

I did, and all I learned was hot to use if statements, and touch events. So just watch vids on yt

same thing here IMO, the developer hub and devforum are the best ways to learn lua(luau). Roblox has made many documents for their developers in the developer hub.

Catto is not back

I would really just recommend YouTube videos Roblox Dev Hub and this forum. All of which are free

I just found someone on discord and badgered them enough to the point at which they had to acknowledge me, and eventually teach me Lua. This method has been tried and tested in schools for years, verified to work!

Those youtubes videos are just repeating what the devhub already states, cough cough TheDevKing!

I think Lua is extremely easy to learn mainly because there’s so so much documentation and help that you can get for free just by using the DevForum and opening Roblox Studio.

Also Roblox Lua (rLua) is a bit different from normal Lua.

nope because you just wasting your money and when you finish the class, you probaly wouldn’t understand what they thought you. Its best to watch a tutorial or user Stackoverflow or you can just ask anyone here on the devforum. They will probaly help you.

I believe it’s subjective. It matters how are you learning most effectively. For example, some people prefer learning with colleagues and a professor. The other side would learn alone. It can be worth the money if you find it a good investment. However, keep in mind that what you are learning in a class can be easily found with an Internet search. Paying for a class demonstrates that you can complete your chores because a tutor will eventually give you homework with what you have learned so far.

Personally, I’ve learned on my own with YouTube videos I’ve found online.

Good luck!

People say that you can learn without a tutor which is true but a tutor can help you and show you your mistakes instead of you figuring them out by yourself which is not fun or quick. I say if you have the money go for it since you can go from beginner to master quicker with someone paid to help you
