Hello everyone. I’ve been wanting to have a game developed that ties in with a naval group to enhance the experience. The game would revolve around large scale space battles (if people choose to partake within them) with stations for people to idle in or work on other things. The battles would only occur if people wish them to. Sort of free roam if you’d call it that basically. The problem is, I’m not sure it would work out as I’m wanting to have large ships with actual players (maybe up to 5) as crewmen. One person piloting with others working on other things. You’d have multiple ships like these while other players might be flying around with single-seated fighters or maybe cruisers with 3 friends in them. Although it’s far from a hard comparison, it would host some of the mechanics of Star Citizen I suppose with different types of ships and crews if you will it. The problem is, I’m not sure if Roblox would be able to handle all that in game. What do you guys think? Is this too ambitious?

I think it would be feasible. As demonstrated by many talented developers, Roblox can support huge maps, and high performance tasks. But in the end, it all depends on what you’re trying to go for. Maybe put less detail in the builds if you want better performance, or make the builds detailed and go for less performance.
That’s a fair way of putting it, something will have to be sacrificed obviously.
