I have seen some members attempting to sell assets via the recruitment category, and was wondering if selling things was allowed here. From what i have heard before, i thought that selling builds and assets was not allowed on the devforum, however someone else had replied saying that assets were allowed to be sold here?
No selling assets is not allowed. Whoever tells you otherwise is wrong.
There was recently a ‘Marketplace’ category on the forums but was removed due to the rising of Engines such as Synapse X which could steal peoples games ( buildings only). This led to a lot of controversy and people selling stolen assets.
Making threads on the dev forum to sell assets is not allowed, however there are plenty of discord servers where you can sell your stuff. Hidden Developers is one, and I’m certain there’s plenty more.
The actual reason (scams were few and far between), is that Discourse (the site the dev forums runs on) isn’t really designed well to handle sales since it’s more focused on discussion and posting more than showing off assets.
With synapse X you can also steal scripts.
You can’t? I don’t think you can, I know you couldnt a month ago. So I doubt thats changed.
With syanpse It’s possible to copy everything on the client side of the game.
