So if there was like a 6x6 part, which would be 36 parts, it would select the 36 parts in a checkerboard pattern which should leave you selecting 18 parts

I don’t think there is one that selects in a checker pattern. Do look more into PartPicker, as it has some filters on selecting just a % of the parts that fit your selected properties. You could randomly select 50% of those parts, but it won’t be in a specific layout if that’s what you were looking for.
Developing a checker select plugin similar to Blender’s checker select function isn’t as easy as you’d think. You’re working with a mesh (a graph essentially) in Blender vs a collection of loose parts in Roblox. You don’t know which parts are adjacent to another except in most trivial cases like a tiled floor. Such a plugin wouldn’t be very versatile.
