Is there a point to sprinting?

A roguelite fantasy open world RPG where you summon demons, complete quests, and slay monsters.

Is there any point in having a “press shift to sprint” mechanic?
Should I just have characters always sprint?

Preferably, have the characters always sprinting just so they can get quicker to their locations but nothing above 35+ ,

I would say there should be a option to sprint. Sprinting helps players get to places faster than normal, but I would suggest if you don’t have one to consider adding a stamina bar to make it more realistic.

My current game doesn’t have a stamina bar, and I don’t plan to add one.

I guess it doesn’t make sense to have a spriting mechanic then

Is the map very big or is it small? Depending on the size I would add one especially in large maps, or have different ways to travel around the world like portals and such.
