When you export an model to an .obj, it exports the textures with it.
but when I import the .obj back into studio, the texture is not saved.
I think you have to upload the texture as a decal then set the texture of the model.
But how would I do that?
The texture does not show when I import the .obj file in blender
Make sure the texture is in the same folder with the .obj file, press Z when you’re in blender and select “Material shading”.
okay so I have the model in blender. The colors are showing. How do I take the texture and save it as a .png?
If you have the texture file, then it’s already a .png file. If it’s a different file extension other than .png, then convert it into one.

I have a feeling that I would use UV Maps, right?
Try opening Image UV Editor in blender, select the texture you want to save by going to the image tab, then click save as Image
so this is my mesh.
I am in edit mode rn.
If I select all the vertices and go into the UV Editor, this shows up.
how do I take that and turn it into an image?
Um, I’m not quite sure on how you would do that. The only thing that pops in my brain would be UV mapping.

Do you have it as an image texture? If not just add an image with the colors you need into blender under UV editing, select the entire mesh and change the base color to image texture and select the image that has the colors you need. From there, on the right screen select the parts you want to have a certain color, then on the left screen drag the selected parts to the color you want. Once you have the entire thing textured, export as an obj. If it still doesn’t work or you did use it as an image texture, save the texture image and upload it to Roblox as a decal, then go to the mesh part in studio and where it says texture paste the decal ID. I hope this can fix your problem.
sorry but mine only says obj and mtl
