Is the following email from Roblox trustworthy? I am confident it is, but I always like to be sure before providing personal information.
I previously was a member of the Stars program to produce three toys based on my game, the email address is legit. I referenced back to my email correspondences back in 2019 and the link seems to be correct too. I am guessing this was sent in error though because that program ended in late 2021. I would email the starpayouts email address and ask if it was an error this was sent to you.
Interesting. I thought this Email was related to my sign-up for the new thing that allows devs to charge USD for their game. I’ll look into it.
Ohh that could be the case! It’s odd they would refer to it as the “Stars Program”, as that was the name of the program when Roblox x Jazwares worked with developers to create toys based on their games. Tipalti is indeed the third-party service Roblox uses to do payouts to developers though.
That was my guess. I’m assuming they are just reusing the program in a way.
Got it
Good to ask here just in case. Ever since the RDC data leak, most people have been on edge about suspicious Roblox emails. I would say it’s legit then. Safe to move forward. Best of luck!
This is typical upon signing up with Tipalti, everything has to be approved manually first.
True, but it’s said that since I originally applied, and then I didn’t receive the sign up email for 5-ish days. Maybe I have to wait another 5 days?
Yeah, you basically have to get manual approval every step (annoying, but necessary). Once you have everything set up, things go a lot quicker in terms of getting cashouts.
They’re sending these to everyone who requested a “Paid Access in Local Currency” Tipalti account, I got one last week. Either way, I’m glad I’m a Star now. I’m just waiting for my Roblox Toy to come out.
