Is this allowed?

I am currently making a game where the point is to get as many deaths as possible.

You spawn with a C4 strapped to you and you essentially wait until you die, and use your deaths to buy bigger and better bombs.

I know that Roblox has very strict self-harm rules and even though I don’t intend for this to be self-harm Roblox could see it as that.

That being said there are games like “Broken Bones” where the entire intention of the game is to jump off a cliff and break as many bones as possible and from what I remember they were involved in a Roblox event (an egg-hunt or something).

So that leaves me with the question, do you think this would be allowed?

Instant no-no. ROBLOX doesn’t like suicide vests at all.

It’s not really a suicide vest, it’s more of a green brick with a timer.

I am not providing a definite answer regarding if this is permissible, but I would advise you to properly complete the experience questionnaire on the creator dashboard so that your experience’s age recommendations are correct for this content.

Did Roblox’s age restrictions allow more mature content?

Err, as long as there’s no super seriousness to this game, such as blood, gore, and even a sad story to follow up with this, I’m gonna say this game is okay. Just maybe set the age rating to 9+ as this game wouldn’t really be for kids any younger. And roblox allows gear items that allow you to harm yourself, such as poisonous drinks, troll drinks, bombs, etc. So this should be allowed.

There is blood & a bit of gore, not Mortem Metallum (Blow Flow) level but more than the average Roblox shooter game.

Do you think adding a Gore Toggle option at the start of the game would make it less bannable?

Also, I wasn’t intending on making it available for all ages in the first place, not that a 6 year old would want to play something like this anyways.

Hmm, well, since Roblox is/has made the age ratings to go up to 17+ now, yeah, this should be okay. For the 13+ level, I wanna say this is safe too. And yes, a toggle option would be okay, because not all people like blood and gore, so that it also shows you aren’t biased either lol.

Questionnaire said 13+.

Also yeah, blood adds an aspect to the game but it doesn’t make it unplayable.

It could also be like some Hot Potato games where a literal cartoony bomb is glued onto you.

I could try adding that to my Kid-friendly toggle.

Roblox needs to add a way to detect if a player is over or under a certain age and enable or disable things for them.

Player:GetUnder13() is locked for usage but there are some PolicyService stuff that can help with this, such as the Ads thing.

I get that it may be exploitable in someways, but I feel like Roblox could be a much better platform if they added things like this.

If you have to ask yourself “Is this allowed” The answer is almost always a hard no…

I’m sure it’s not your intention, but when the whole premise of your game is trying to unalive yourself by using C4, or an action historically synonymous with terrorists, you’re pretty much asking for your experience to be moderated.

I’d suggest thinking of a different concept that may involve the same root element of your game.

Roblox has endorsed games like “Broken Bones” in which the whole premise of the game is to “commit suicide” by breaking as many bones as possible.

I completely understand your point, but the line between Broken Bones and your concept is extremely thick.

I’ve come to the conclusion that my game will probably be fine as long as I keep it on 13+

For a situation like this, you’re better off making it less terrorist-y/suicide-y and either more cartoonish (hot potato type game) or more deliberate (running around and intentionally holding a bomb, making it a game to explode others or explode buildings or something instead of just exploding yourself)

The bomb is pretty much as cartoony as it can get without me removing the timer itself.

You currently already can intentionally kill others, I may also add rewards for that.

And you are also now able to pull your bomb off, just in case you don’t want to die.

Edit: I also want to make it clear, that this game is supposed to have some comedy to it (obviously it doesn’t at the moment). As you progress you will be able to get comically large or unrealistic bombs such as nuclear bombs, the classic round bomb, etc.

I’d read the Roblox Community Standards – Roblox Support

your game description directly encourages and depicts an extremely violent suicide as a way to progress the game. You’d very likely get moderated for this, and to the persons’ judgement that has to moderate it, this could be seen as terrorism/terroristic acts and strategies. This is a really bad idea IMO.

At least don’t directly depict an actual, real-life explosive device. There are many with experiences with these devices that you should assume may be in the audience of your game
