I have just made a wall pattern to add to my game, but I’m not sure if I will get banned for it.
Here is a screenshot of it: (Ignore the blue selection box, for some reason it was selected)
Now I started of with the pattern by making a swastika, then I copy and pasted it to make this design.
Now, I know said symbol above has connotations to fascism and Nazis, but isn’t it also used in certain religions, and the Nazi Swastika is a different type of symbol compared to the ones in the photo I took? This pattern is just for decoration, not related to any religion nor Nazism.
I’m still worried that ROBLOX moderators may still take it down, and terminate/ban my account. What should I do?
Hmm, If I was you, I would try and change it up a little bit, so that the moderators don’t take it as you are trying to implement any Religion or nazism into your game. Or you could simply try and reach out to the roblox staff.
The swastika you portrayed does have religious and symbolic meaning in Eastern religions such as Buddhism and so forth, it doesn’t actually have connotations to fascism or the Nazis. The design you portray is usually seen as a sign of good luck or peace. However, during WWII, the Nazis adopted the symbol and changed it slightly to what is believed to be “anti-peace” or something similar. So while you don’t need to worry about showing rated to fascism or the Nazis, as Kimathi4theWin said, I would check with moderators since due to a relatively recent change, I believe Roblox doesn’t want anything religious on the platform.
I think you should change the design a bit, perhaps you should just do a zigzag line design by removing half of the parts. Also it would be better for optimization since less parts are used.
EDIT: If you want to unselect something (such as the selected part), click it again, and press Ctrl+1 to disable selection. When you want to select something again, you can press Ctrl+1 once again.
Also, this doesn’t look like you should be concerned about anything, at least in my opinion, but if you’re anxious about this, you should change it up. Otherwise, try reaching out to the Roblox support (Support - Roblox)
I don’t think it has to be changed as i only realised that the pattern is based off of swastikas when you said that and i doubt anyone playing your game will notice.
Since Roblox has not replied to my message, I will settle on this for my solution:
I shouldn’t be worried about getting banned, due to the design being decorative in my game only.
However, due to roblox moderation, I will change it up to look less relating to religion.
Additional fact thing: A few minutes after I originally posted this topic, I played a Roblox game where someone found me there and contacted me about the DevForum post (Person was just a visitor)
It definetely does not look like the swastika, when I first looked at it I was confused why it would violate. I do not think this would be violating TOS.
I just managed to see the swastika, bro this isn’t violating any ToS from Roblox, beside the fact that there are many decorations that look like this in the east and in USA. If they ban you, it was because a human did a review, but we all know that it’s just a robot so don’t worry about it.
