So I’m working on a game with some friends, and we want to have a lot of features in it, and one of the features was the ability to kidnap someone. I wanted to know if it was against ToS to have a kidnapping feature.
I tried looking around and couldn’t find another question about it so yeah.
The “Kidnap” command in the Adonis admin suite was against TOS so i would assume this is to. They ended up changing the kidnap command to something else as a result. However it kinda depends on what you are actually allowing them to do.
As with most content, it often depends on the way you present it. Generally if you have to ask it’s best to avoid, but if you’re thinking something more like Fat Princess where no harm is done to the princesses and it’s very cartoony, no violence to the hostage/kidnapped person, then it’s probably okay.
If instead you have violence, tying people up in the boot of a car, the person gets injured or worse, and the style is very realistic and close to real life, then you’d struggle to justify it.
Generally “jail” or something similar is a better terminology than kidnapping if you’re going down the safer cartoony route.
Well it would probably work similar to the feature in Wild West where they allow people to be lasso’d and there is a law enforcement option in this game.
Also @kinkocat I believe that kidnap command is different then the feature I have, as that one represents modern clown kidnapping, this game is set in the Ancient Era.
I’m sure it’ll be fine. Once the feature is implemented you could just send a message to DevRel and ask them about it. Just don’t release it until you’ve got a response.
No, it would not be against Roblox Tos rules because one of admin like @PMGDesigns said there is a admin that could kidnap you and if it’s not really like kidnapping just like throw a rope around a player then roblox might ask you to remove it or change it. There are games like that if some parts of there game as long as it’s like you know what roblox would not like at all.
No, I strongly advise against any content referencing subjects such as ‘kidnapping’, ‘murders’, etc. This was a mistake on our behalf and we amended it with a more friendly, humorous command instead. If you have content referencing kidnapping/murders, you will at best be asked to remove it, or worse receive a moderation warning.
