Hello there, I am making a cafe game on Roblox and whenever I come up with ideas I instantly write them down on Trello so I don’t forget them later on. I may not have explained everything as well as it sounds in my head but I am hoping you get the idea of what I am going for.
This is the idea I came up with:
Staff being able to get paid…
You may be thinking what I mean by the staff members get paid? The payment would be Robux of course! This idea is great but there are some things that would have to be integrated and ill discuss that below.
Paying each and every staff member is impossible since that would get VERY VERY costly, so instead, I would host giveaways that only staff members are able to join.
These giveaways would be hosted very often (Most likely, once a day), and would have to be not a super big amount since it’s being hosted every single day.
You may be thinking: Letting all the staff members enter a giveaway which what if they haven’t even played, worked, or did anything for the cafe in a while? Well, this would be an easy workaround, we would only let members of the staff team that work (set amount) every (set amount), Example: Staff that work a minimum of 3 hours per week are able to enter these giveaways, which I think is very fair.
Instead of reading everything above:
Everyone who is staff in my cafe, every day they’re able to enter into a giveaway which is hosted in discord and if they were in my game for a minimum of 3 hours in the last week, they’re able to enter into the daily giveaway.
Entering into the giveaway is 100% free, no gambling, no ticket prices, and the very few requirements are free to do (Discord is free, and becoming a staff member is free)
I would say definitely. I still remember when that one Youtuber(can’t remember his name) got banned on livestream for giveawaying robux to his fans via his group. ROBLOX enforcement on your group will be pretty lax, but I think it’ll catch up the second your group gains traction, and I think we both can tell you don’t wanna be smited right before the good part of running a Cafe group. BUT you could use ROBLOX giftcards for giveaways, which could work if we are to believe your group gains enough traction, and if you lower the giveaways to be around once a month. If you were to giveaway a 10$ ROBLOX giftcard to a random staff member once every month, you would end up spending 120$ dollars a year(which sounds incredibly large, but would be reasonable in the context of your group being successful)
That Line is exactly the one that describes my post which means it is against the ToS BUT If I did my idea with Giftcards it would 100% be okay. The lowest amount of gift card is $10 cad which is a lot more Robux than I would have given as I would have done say like 100 per day starting out as I think my game could easily support that and make me more robux in return. If I did $10 cad worth of robux in gift card format I could prob do it every week (minimum 3 hours of game playtime)
Edit: It would come up to $520 cad per year but with taxes it would be much more. ($40 cad per month) seems much nicer to look at, and not only that if I cant make more than a measly $40 then this idea would not exist anymore but I feel like it would be pretty easy to make more than $40 per month to keep up with the payouts that I am doing.
I think you should start small with the giveaways. Success is not guaranteed, so it is best to not go full in(though I’m certain you’re already aware of this). 10$ every 6 months would be a great starting point, even if it doesn’t seem enticing;
keep in mind that no other group(to my knowledge) does such, really. to the molerat that is the average ROBLOX player, this offer would be alluring.
Oh ya for sure, I wouldn’t do $10 robux giveaways every week right away, I would only do that once my game gets to the amount of success I want it at (100 Players average is my first goal)
$10 every 6 months seem a little bit too much, I am fine with giving up some of my profits as long as I still am going in the positive and not having to take money out of my own pocket
I think I saw a cafe doing this idea a few years ago maybe Idk but it was with group funds and there was no requirements other than to be staff (to my knowledge), not sure the name of the cafe or if they’re still doing it or not
The cafe I am working on is more on the original side as there are no other ones that are exactly like mine, and I feel like this cafe that I am working on has a lot of chance as being successful.
I see. Well, I’d love to see your group’s/Cafe’s progress and just sit as a random gremlin in it as it grows(not as a staff member, just a spectator). DM me or find some way to make me aware of the group whenever it becomes finalized
My cafe isn’t fully done, id says it’s only about 30-50% done. I’m not the fastest as I have to do all the tasks by myself as I cannot afford to pay others to help nor do I wanna give percentages of my profit as it’s not worth it.
In the past 1-2, I put about 40 hours into doing development-related stuff into my game.
I haven’t had a chance to make a group yet and I most likely won’t make one until the game is done as there’s no need for one until the game is released.
If you would like to stay up to date on the progress OR want me to let you know when it’s completed I can do so on discord @ LancmoV2#8401
I was never in trouble or banned back in the day when I ran a large coffee store group. I’d just randomly hand out Robux to the people roleplaying as cashiers. Players that recruited well and actively served customers were rewarded. I didn’t tell them in advance “do this for Robux.” It sort of just acted as a spontaneous reward. It didn’t ever hurt anybody.
