Hey everyone,
I am working on a wipeout game and it is a round based game so I need a pre game lobby for players to wait at during intermission (About 10 seconds after each round) I made this pre game lobby for it a long time ago but something in me just feels like its not good enough and I dont know what it is about it, I didn’t build the mansion but I can build but dont know if I should rebuild it and if its even worth rebuilding any feedback is appreciated.
Ignore the trees btw I was just testing new trees to optimize the entire game
I personally would say it’s less not good enough and more a work in progress.
For me it feels a little too empty and synthetic. The land is unnaturally flat by the buildings and the river is too straight. The trees and bushes are a good touch, however they are all the same and feel a bit randomly placed. Having the nature more clustered together could help a bit, especially if you resize some of the trees to make them feel different. It would be a good idea to have a bit more variety with the trees, whether that be new species, or just having the leaves be different shades of green.
All that said the horizon looks great in this picture, and I really like the bridge and that white building in the distance. Overall, nothing looks particularly bad, it just needs a bit more added to it.
All that said, if players are only spending 10 seconds between matches here, there is the argument that it doesn’t need to be particularly good anyways. Natural disaster survival has literally just a platform with game pass billboards on it, and it was doing well enough to be in the hunt event. (despite being well over a decade old).
Thanks for the detailed response im working on adding more nature now im just looking for some more low poly trees because the lag with the trees I had before this picture was really bad so ill make sure to try and implement everything you said thanks again for the help
