Is this system against TOS?

I was thinking of making a system where players can “attach” a product(shirt, gamepass, etc) to an in-game item that will be put up for sale for any other player to buy. Once the player buys the item by completing the purchase, the item is automatically taken from the seller and given to the buyer, just as it would be done through a trade system. Furthermore, I would like to add that I want this system to work as a global marketplace that is cross-server. Where if a player puts an item up for sale, it goes onto the marketplace board where players from all servers can see it, but only 1 will be able to buy it of course.

My concern is that im not sure if this is against TOS. So is such a system allowed on Roblox?

From looking at the TOS that is not in fact allowed, people can set gamepasses and tshirts so people can buy them, but they cannot receive anything in return, it must be what is considered a “donation”.

At least thats what it sounds like from this part of the TOS.

I believe roblox has also taken down games that allowed players to sell items for robux ( In this case gamepasses or shirts.), but dont quote me on this.

How does this exist?

poor moderation, poor enforcement of tos maybe.

Im not sure really lol, Im just stating what I read in the TOS.

Just paid attention to the TOS fragment in your post, it says that it has to be clear to the user that they dont recieve anything, but doesn’t prohibit handling player trades.

They would have to enable payed item trading (wtevr it’s called) in order for this to be allowed. It shouldn’t be against TOS.

With so many replies, I’m really not sure what to believe. My first thought was also PLS BUY ME. But I do know Roblox has poor moderation. Any definitive clarity would be great.

Furthermore, I would like to present this question, if I have an exclusive item in game that can only be obtained by buying it through a developer product, is it okay if I allow player’s to trade this item. I have in mind of content creator’s being able to buy an item more than once, and gifting them to players. A great example of this would be EVOs from MM2. At this moment of time, they are not tradable, but would it be against TOS if they were?

I assume it wouldn’t be, because games are allowed to make in-game currency purchasable, which would then be used to get an item that can be traded.

It might be best to add that, in games like PLS DONATE, the game explicitly makes it clear to the player that they will get “GiftBux”(Not fully sure of the name of the currency) if they donate to a player, furthermore, they can also unlock new booths by donating enough Robux to others. So PLS DONATE very clearly gives donators a benefit for donating. Which means they don’t “receive nothing”

Being able to trade items that you payed for via a dev product is in line with the TOS.

You’d just need to set in the Questionnaire that there are Paid Tradable Items.

yeah that is a good point.

In further looking through the TOS I can find absolutely nothing that states against that you can do this, ofc I didnt look that long but yuh.

Thank you for this, I surely hope you are correct regarding the products connected to in-game items, cause I really don’t want to get banned!

I think the most that would happen is your game gets taken down til you resolve the issue, and at most a 7 day ban (which I dont think is likely, you’d prob get a 1 day ban but dont quote me)

Uh yeah yw
