Is using a plane kit okay if you build the whole plane yourself?

I want to build a working DC-3. I already have the model down, but the scripting is really intimidating and doesn’t seem like it’s worth it. Is it okay to use a plane kit (essentially a free model containing the functional components) if you build the plane yourself?

My problem is that I don’t really feel comfortable and would like to know the community’s consensus on using free models to give function to a build.

I don’t really have any solutions other than asking the devforum itself.

If it’s a non-stolen freemodel (99% of the time it is), you don’t even need to ask this question. There’s a general (and useless) stigma against freemodels. If you can’t do something yourself, use a free model. It’s what they’re there for.
