So I feel like this is a gray area, ROBLOX states that any reference of Discord, whether it be by the word itself, a link, or the invite code, is not allowed and can result in moderation action. I feel like most people who have been in Roblox Discord servers in the past would know what a community server is, and <13 players would have no clue (unless they have somehow been in Roblox Discord servers).
My question is, would using the words “join our community server for ______” be acceptable?
If the reference is in a game, description or anywhere else than social links. That’s not allowed; you’re encouraging <13 users to break a 13+ Terms of Service(Discord).
Hmm would saying something like “check out our socials” be acceptable then? As far as I’m aware <13 users can’t see the social links section at all so they’ll have no idea.
Adding onto what Operatik said, you can say and do anything you like as long as you don’t link to it outside of the social links section. I don’t think it’s even allowed to just have the code on its own without context in the description.
Though this has been answered previously by someone else, I figured I would add to what was said. Simply saying “Check out our socials” really shouldn’t be pushing any boundaries in regards to TOS. As Roblox themselves implemented several features where you are able to link your socials on your profile/game. However, if you begin joining games and proceed to say, “Follow me on ______”. I believe that will result in a warning from Roblox; hence why the phrases “Follow me on”, “Subscribe to”, “Twitter”, “Discord”, etc. have been flagged and will appear as tags. Hope that cleared things up for ya!
