Issue date set as birthday when verifying ID

Reproduction Steps
I verified my age using my drivers license, and my birthday was clearly visible. It took the issue date (01/03/2023) instead of my birth date (02/01/2006).

Steps:

  • Verify your age
  • Go through the verification steps successfully
  • Check birthdate

Expected Behavior
My age to be correctly verified.

Actual Behavior
After verifying my age, roblox set my birthday at 01/03/2006, my actual date of birth is 02/01/2006 which is clearly stated on my license which was used to verify my age.

I’m also unable to go through and reverify as it set my account as <13. This has also taken away my access to the developer forums on that account, rateings.

This problem happened to my friend and the age of the account is literally less than a year :joy:

If you contact Roblox Support they should be able to set your DOB and reset the ID verification so that you can try verifying again

I’ve tried around 5 times, as my account is labeled as <13, they only send copy and pasted responses. I believe this is because of their COPPA policy. I’ve only ever seen people getting help from the dev forums with this kind of situation.

I have not yet used ID verification, but this shouldn’t be a problem in the first place.
This issue will need to be fixed immediately, as this could ruin your entire Roblox ‘life’ by limiting you to pretty much nothing to do on Roblox at that point.

There are unfortunately imperfections in how our vendor extracts fields from IDs, and while they should be rare cases, I understand the frustration when they do occur.

I flagged this issue to our vendor, and I also asked our customer support team to reach out to you directly to get this resolved. When you’re contacted by our team, it will be helpful if you can share some details about the ID you tried to use (country of origin, etc.) that resulted in the incorrect DOB. That will be valuable information we can communicate to our vendor to fix these issues going forward.
