Issue of Texturing in Blender 2.9

Issue of Texturing in Blender 2.9

  • I recently created a low poly house in blender 2.9 and I need to colour the house with UV wrapping and this is what I get so far!
  • I don’t know how to texture the UV wrapping cause I don’t know which is the area of the parts in the models. Tell me if you know how to solve this problem! Tysm!

Hey, well try this: First make sure you are on the UV Editing tab, then view the house from any axis you want (x, y, z) and then press ‘U’ on your keyboard and click “Project from View”, which should hopefully show you the parts you want to color clearly.

Hope this helps

P.S. This should probably be in the building support category

Okay thank you, I will try this later! Do you mean this is the UV Editing Tab?Screenshot 2021-04-02 at 8.07.23 PM P.S.: I will change the category next time.

Yep! then to color it, just insert the color pallet of your choice at the top. If you don’t see any changes to the part’s color, just click ‘Z’ on the part, then “Material Preview”.
Hope this helped you out

For coloring, can I use paint.net or photoshop? Anyways thanks again.

Wait a moment, aren’t you coloring it in blender?

I recommend selecting edges on your mesh and marking the seams on it, so when you go U + Unwrap, it will Unwrap how you want your islands to be on the UV Map. Also if you want to texture high detailed models I recommend using Substance Painter, however if your mesh is with just bland colors, I recommend vertex coloring rather than texturing.

You can also make gradients with vertex coloring. Vertex coloring is also good for performance!!

Hope this helps, if you have questions about Vertex Coloring or UV’s , then reply here.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks! I will try it out later!

I am a little confused then, the post says you are having trouble texturing in blender.

Yep, when I am importing the texture,it didn’t shows up to the correct space.

Oh, so you were asking if you can make the texture in paint.net or photoshop? If so, you most certainly can

Yes lol thanks!! Do I just replace the UV wrapping after I’m done?

Yep, make sure the file is a .png though. then click here and import the texture.

Also, you will have to create materials for each individual object, but when you are done creating the texture, tell me and I’ll show you how (It is very simple don’t worry  )

Omg, tysm! You are very kind!! Do you mind giving me your discord so I can keep telling my progress? :pray:t2:
