Try to head to Roblox Support, select account hacked, forgot password, you should get the ai chatbot and you can use that. itll set the account email to the first one verified on it and you can forgot password and use the account again!

Could you tell me the reason why this “useful” feature unlinks the email from account and yet asks the user to reset password USING the linked email?

Hi, this issue doesn’t seem to be fixed- I’m still having the email on some of my accounts vanish and support is saying there isn’t enough information to prove I own the account.

Although this report has been marked as “fixed,” I continue to receive daily notifications, and based on my observations, it remains relevant for many users and has not been fully resolved.

If an account is flagged for suspicious activity and has since been secured with this feature, and if there is an option to regain access through email and phone number verification — yet this security measure ends up completely removing the existing email and phone number from the account — then the usefulness of offering such an option becomes questionable, as you are effectively eliminating the very recovery methods you’re suggesting. As a result, users are being locked out of their own accounts.

This process you’re offering simply doesn’t make any sense overall, and for a multi-billion dollar company, it’s honestly quite embarrassing. Please implement a proper fix for this — and if you’re going to offer account recovery via email and phone number, then don’t remove those contact methods in the first place.

Yes, and the support is complete nonsense.

It went a little something like this:

I sent proof, my phone number, and my password in the support ticket, I also have a authenticator with a phone number.

I was immediately sent to a support bot who asked me to check my email on one that I do not even own. Roblox effectively removed my email, so I couldn’t check it for the code. I kept telling the bot that I wanted to change the email back, but it kept telling me to check the email. Eventually, I was sent a support ticket, and based on what I sent, it’s pretty obvious what went down.

Please, if you’re going to implement such a stupid feature like this, atleast have a way to revert it easily, or even a feature to change your email back to what it was before! I want my account back, and I’m sure everybody affected by this wants their account back too. Roblox has NOT fixed this issue, their support team feels like bots, and we all get the same responses every single time.

Just because I don’t remember what game I played (Yes, this is how I lost my account in the first place, it asked me to select 3 games I remember playing) doesn’t mean you should lock my account out on every single instance, remove the email, and then give me nonsensical support responses.

Come on roblox! We can do better then this, surely?

Hi, are you sure this issue has been fixed?

For instance, when logging in I put in my email first, then selected the account to log in - which then prompted the Security Notification, re-inputted my email… and its not sending me an email to reset the password.

i think you should remove the “solution” because nothings changed

I understand your concern, but I believe the issue has actually been resolved. As @aquamits mentioned, when you go through Roblox Support and select “Account Hacked > Forgot Password,” it redirects you to the AI chatbot, which links your account back to the first verified email address associated with the account. This has resolved the issue for most people, and it seems like the method to regain access has been improved through Roblox Support, specifically by the staff handling the report.

Regarding your case, I can see that after chatting with the chatbot, you’re facing issues with the first verified email being linked to the account. That makes sense — since these accounts are secured due to suspicious activity, it’s possible that the hacker added their own email. In that context, reverting the account to the first verified email makes the most sense from a security standpoint, and seems to be the intended behavior.

That being said, my only concern is that, if they are offering an interface to regain access through email, why do they initially remove the current email from the account? I understand that removing it might be necessary if the current email is compromised, but the way it’s communicated in the “Security Notification” interface is misleading. If the UI suggests that entering your email will restore access, but the email gets removed instead, that can be very confusing. Clarifying the wording or behavior of that interface would go a long way in helping users understand what’s actually happening.

This part, however, might fall under a different topic altogether. My main concern was whether the general issue of being unable to regain access to an account at all had been resolved — and based on the support system’s current behavior, I believe it has.

Ultimately, your case might differ, and since you know the full context best, I’d recommend creating a separate report so the team can review your situation more specifically.

I tried this, it didn’t work. It immediately sent me to the support ticket, where the totally real “human representative” declined my request as usual. Appreciate the help though, I may just be unlucky in this situation unfortunately.

It keeps on sending me to the chatbot and then it tells me to check an email that is not mine, then it sends me to the support ticket where I get the “help” i “need”

it’s very likely that my roblox account with 2+ years of developer work is gone for good just because I couldn’t verify the 3 games I played recently.

Fly high, Robloxco0lgame :sob:

Quick update, it seems that you can now have the email reset be undone by making a ticket:

For some reason my issue is I can log in with my email, select an account to log in, but the password reset email isn’t sending to my inbox.

So is the email removed?

Yes. The email unlinks from the account.

Yup. Getting this exact message with one of my accounts.

Previously one account has been able to be salvaged but the email was reset to a previous email that I had since abandoned, but for some reason Roblox linked it back to that after several years using the new one.

The second account Support is giving me this very message.

Its really strange that if you are using Email B, that somehow the Security Notification unlinks it and Support than links it to Email A. If there was no Email A, then the account is just lost into the aether.
