Issue with the new mesh importer

I’ve been having an issue lately with the new unified mesh importer, surrounding the feature where whenever you import a mesh it will automatically downscale it to be under 20,000 polygons. This is a (welcome) feature of the plugin, but the problem is that even though all of the parts of my mesh are under 20k tris, it will still downscale it so the entire mesh reaches this poly limit. Usually there is a notice saying this has happened after you upload the mesh and before you import it into Roblox, but this time there are no warnings. Even in the importer screen the mesh shows up, full poly, as it should, but after you import into the workspace it shows up completely decimated.

Screenshot of it in the mesh importer, full poly:

Screenshot of it after I imported it, decimated:

Screenshot of it in Blender, again full poly:

The new mesh importer is a beta feature, so that could be the problem, but as far as I know there wasn’t an update to it and if somehow this is intentional, there is no way to disable it. Any thoughts?

you can import the parts separately so that they down get downscaled. You can do this using the asset manager. just import it as an FBX using the bulk import.

Bulk import limits the mesh to 10K tris per part. It would work but it’s not as good.

is there a way to do more than 10k vertices?

Nope. I tried the avatar importer too, it doesn’t work.

ok so go into blender and use a decimate modifier on only the parts your willing to have less tris
