Issues With Autosave

I think that this post meets the rules of this category, but I apologize in advance if I’m wrong. I’m not necessarily reporting a bug or requesting a change to the autosave system, so I think that this is the correct category.

I’ve been working on a project with a group of people and some scripts were accidentally deleted. I checked my autosaves folder to see if I could recover a relatively recent version of the scripts and it only contained 4 autosaves. One was from the day when the scripts were deleted and all of the rest were from October (despite the fact that I’ve been working on this regularly). This happened yesterday.

I checked the autosaves folder again today, and the recent autosave from yesterday (it wasn’t useful since it contained a version after the scripts had been deleted) was gone and replaced by another extremely old autosave from October. I don’t need to be a Roblox Studio expert to know that something is wrong. It seems like my recent autosaves are constantly being replaced by autosaves from the week that I started helping them with development.

There’s most likely a reasonable explanation for this, but I don’t know what it is. I know that I’m at fault for not having a copy of the scripts outside of the version saved on Roblox. I’m still hoping that someone may have an explanation for why this is happening.

Try going to the Develop page. Once you go there, choose the place that was affected and then Configure. There should be a Version History tab in the menu that appeared. Revert the game to the appropriate version and then publish the changes in Studio.

Thanks. I wasn’t familiar with this.
