Hello DevForum Users,
I recently made a post titled “I’ve falsely been banned regarding DMCA (Any support is helpful)” where I explained the situation I’m dealing with. Since then, I’ve submitted a counter-notice to get my content back up, but Roblox has refused to reinstate it, and I wanted to share an update.
Here’s what’s going on:
-
The Name “School Fire Alarm”:
The user who filed the DMCA claim against me insists they own the name “School Fire Alarm.” I’ve pointed out to Roblox support several times that this name isn’t trademarked, so it’s not something that only they can use. But it seems like Roblox is siding with them without really checking whether their claim is valid. -
The Fire Alarm Systems:
The fire alarm systems in question have IDs 6943583524 and 11672963115. To clarify, these systems were created by another user, not the person who filed the DMCA strike against me. The person who filed the claim is using someone else’s content to try to take mine down. What’s really strange is that the system with ID 6943583524 was made before the person filing the DMCA even existed on Roblox, which makes their claim even more questionable. -
Misuse of the DMCA Process:
It feels like the person who filed the claim is manipulating the system by using content they didn’t even create. This has been really frustrating because it led to my content being taken down unfairly.
What I’m asking for:
Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation where someone falsely claimed ownership of content that isn’t theirs? What steps can I take to make sure Roblox looks into this properly instead of just removing my content?
Also, should I share the DMCA PDF file that Roblox sent me? I’m wondering if it would help to show more details about what’s going on.
I appreciate any advice or suggestions you can offer. Thanks for your support!
