I've got a idea for a game

Hello there fellow developers!

I was listening to Sabaton (a music band based on teaching historical events in metal music) specifically the song ‘Winged Hussars’ which is based on the 1683 Battle of Vienna when I got curious and searched up the Battle on the platform.

This is when I noticed there were no games based on historical events past around WW1 or at least none that I know of.

This is when a came up with the idea!

What if I made a game during the time period this battle took place in?

Here’s the gist of it:

There are rounds where players are swapped into two teams.
Each team would have a variety of classes
Before each round players would have to vote on a historical map based on a historical battle
To win the players need to whitle down the enemy teams respawn pool
The team that still has respawns wins
and the cycle repeats

Since I’m a history nerd I will definitely try to make this idea into a possibility
Thanks for listening!

Possibly violates ToS.

Oh then… guess I’m not making it. (btw this violates the rules on Civility - Real World Sensitive events if I’m correct? I haven’t looked into the ToS for a while.)

Nice idea. I suggest some battles take place in the Opium Wars or the Anglo-Zulu wars, where one team has a massive respawn pool and subpar weapons, while the other has the opposite.

Im afraid that wont work

Like netpwn said, it violates TOS

@Coolsbloxian @netpwn How though? Isn’t it just a war game?

Well, think of it this way

Someone makes a game about 9/11 which is a real event. Obviously someone’s gonna be offended for obvious reasons

Soon taken down

9/11 and the Battle of Vienna (aswell as other pre-WW1 battles) are not on the same level.

9/11 was an attack against civilians. Terrorism. TOS-breaking.
The Battle of Vienna was a regular conflict between armies. A siege upon a fort. Not TOS-breaking. And even if it were, why then would there be so many war games up and running on the platform?

Just rename the maps (battles) to something similar if you are worried about that. You can also change the rest of the names of things this way. Maybe also mix up the maps so they look more improvised and not a one to one real life copy. The costumes, weapons, and accessories in-game are always okay to make historically accurate, as they belong to an “imagenary” group of people. At least this seems to be my experience with Roblox games. However, I have seen many Roblox games that are based on real-life battles, and they are not deleted, at least at the moment.

I disagree with what other users are telling you about this violating the TOS. The Battle of Vienna took place 340 years ago. I think that it occured so long ago that it should not be considered “sensitive”. I believe “Real-World Sensitive Events” only applies to events where there are people alive today who were affected by them. Your game would simply be a recreation of a historical event.

Just to ensure that the game does not break TOS, I should remove somethings like removing most suggestions of religion unless its something like a Church, make the environment less Gritty, and more things like I said, to ensure the game follows TOS.

I’ve seen a game that replicates ww2 battles. So this would basically be the same thing. That game has not been taken down. I think the rule only applies to very recent events. I’m sure doing WW1 would be fine.

I also don’t think this breaks ToS. FPS games are one of the largest pillars of the game industry and are most often based on real world events and/or factions. This is no exception on Roblox.

Of course, you need to avoid all gore, blood, and profanity unless this is 18+ only. However, you probably weren’t planning on making an NSFW game in the first place.

I think your idea is solid, but perhaps lacking on planning. Spend a good amount of time drawing up a well thought out plan. Think about what it will be like to play it, what will be most engaging, and how to keep the player regularly in that state of play.

Consider what sorts of things will keep the player coming back, and how to maximize the length of the average player’s session. Focus on keeping the plan simple and efficient. Do not plan any features that are outside your ability to figure out and/or develop.

Once you have a working game, you will most likely also need robux to get it played. Before you spend your funds, make sure the retention and monetization of the game is in place and working. Then, you will want to sponsor and maybe advertise for about 8 days.

Spend appx. 12.5k per day between PC and Xbox, these give the best return (only do about 2.5k for Xbox). If your game is properly prepared, you can expect around 500 CCU from this, a lot more if you catch the algorithm. A well monetized game with decent retention will make hundreds of thousands of robux from this, even millions.

The idea of this game kind of sounds like empire clash which I actually enjoy but at most I think this game would get maybe if lucky at least 20-60 players daily cause empire clash although not historical but pretty much has the variety of classes only has some 200-400 players daily.

It also sounds like the game Blood and Iron too so I don’t know cause the player audience you’re aiming for is probably mostly taken already.

You should play neighbour hood war lol 13+ but its pretty crazy if that doesn’t violate Tos then I think this game idea should be fine
