Hello everyone, today im here to share the game i have been working on. This is basically an invitation to a beta session im hosting in an hour from now, so the game would be going public at 4pm UTC for a duration of aprox 2hrs (you dont need to be there for the whole duration of course), after that, the game is going private again so we can improve some more stuff. Everyone is welcome to join and test the features, give any suggestions and such.
Anyone who participates is greatly appreciated, this couldnt be done without the playerbase support. I will be playing the game for the whole duration of the beta and also will be gifting in-game goodies like a code and currency with the participants as part of the event prior to the official release which should be happening in the upcoming weeks. Thanks to anyone who reads this, have a great day.
There should be 2 openings, because of the other time zones
However I should be okay because I am in PST, apparently, it is 8:00 right now
Pictures look good
Hey thank you for commenting! Yea i agree it would be the perfect scenario to host 2 openings but sadly due to IRL circunstances we wont have that much other availability today so we can only afford to host 1, we will try to make the most out of it with everyone who joins to play.
Also as i mentioned, if you feel you cant make it but are interested, keep an eye open for the actual release which should be happening in some weeks, from there the game will always be available
Thank you everyone who joined, we had a lively lobby and then the 2 chapter instances we got going. We will keep you all posted while we work on fixing all your suggestions and bugs!
I liked the textures and overall gameplay, may have overdone the mazes a little bit, but otherwise Chapter 1 was a fun game to play with your fellow developer Tae. Sorting feedback into 3 priorities, one being the most important. Keep in mind most of these are only recommendations; without them, the game is functional and appealing still. Update me! (:
Priority I
Things that may irk more than half your playerbase
Camera offset to 0, make Torso invisible as well as the playerâs head.
Disable shiftlock; I couldnât run otherwise.
Dialogue in NPCs cuts off after one sentence (look on the Devforum/Developer Resources page for better explanations on consistent dialogue conversations).
Priority II
Minor irritations, not hurting the game at all
Use the same building style. I wasnât able to acquire screenshots during my run, but some walls/builds have intensely detailed textures/foliage around them with a very blocky, bricky style.
The monsterâs hitbox is large enough to kill me through walls. I suggest you make it smaller and more within the monster rather than infront of it, as this can be a huge problem when it turns (huge hitbox!).
The churchâs teleportation is a little choppy, but it functions; blacking out the playerâs screen earlier is an easy fix.
Priority III
Just my personal opinions as a player
Lobby/first maze audio was a little strange and didnât fit the atmosphere.
May want to change the graves from crosses to rounder headstones. Religion may be an issue to some players, although I donât have an issue with it.
Flashlights are a little too bright/flashy, especially with many people. Take this with a grain of salt though, I have high photosensitivity and thatâs only from my perspective.
Stem use of free models. It wasnât observable at first and wonât be noted by players who havenât gone through the Toolbox, so low priority.
Make it more clear on where weâre supposed to go throughout the game, except for the Church, as players are supposed to exclusively search for it.
Finally, details I noted as exceptional
Water and the builds inside said water; really good touch.
Ending cutscene was very clean, concise, and a good end to Chapter 1.
The notes/papers you can pick up are a little inconspicuous, but a great addition!
Your sidenote objectives are great. I have zero complaints.
The monsterâs pathfinding is really creative. Itâs good to be able to hide from a monster that relies on sight.
Thank you very much and note that we will have it all in mind while applying the fixes during the upcoming days. We take our community serious and we want to have everyone take part on building a great and fun game
