The base version of Killemony offers the main story and 2 minigames to play.
Main Game
Tutorial
Killemony doesn’t have a separate tutorial level. It’s rather easy to understand how to play the whole game. The mechanics were intentionally designed to be easily understood, and any new mechanics or gimmicks are introduced in a smooth and natural way.
Killemony follows the Super Mario Bros approach of presenting tutorials, which is: Make core gameplay mechanics understandable within the first level, then add objectives and gimmicks as levels progress. Great games don’t need drawn out or separate tutorials.
Playable Characters
There are 3 playable characters in Killemony by default. The characters are Pups, Kennerick, and Len Dopper. You can play as more characters by purchasing the Killemony Double pass.
Maps
FLOGEO
Flogeo is a beach-themed parodied version of Florida. The name itself is actually the first three letters of “Florida” and “Georgia” combined.
GUNPINES
Gunpines is a parody version of Georgia (USA): more trees, more clay and dirt, and higher ground. It was originally named “Cuttingpines”, which was a response to how I felt as a Georgia native watching outsiders come into the state and changing everything that made the state what it was, such as chopping down huge acres of trees and building real estate projects that didn’t suit or complement the land well. The state lost much of its southern identity over the last three decades, which is why I originally titled this area Cuttingpines. Now it’s called Gunpines, because there is quite a sizeable gun culture in Georgia, with multiple well-known gun companies having manufacturing branches in the state.
BOOMAVILLE
Boomaville is a parody of two US regions which are the Midwest and the Deep South. The name “Boomaville” is inspired by the historic nickname often associated with the Deep South, “Dixieland.”
RUD SMOKES
This area is a fictitious version of the Appalachia region of the US, but the name itself is inspired by The Great Smoky Mountains nickname, “The Smokies”.
ANGELINE
This one should be obvious, but if you are confused as to what this place is parodied after, it’s of Los Angeles. LA has its history of a criminal underworld and gun violence, which is why it was chosen to be parodied in this game.
CLEARCAST
Clearcast is a sky level with white clouds and both floating and transparent islands.
DEARCY
Dearcy isn’t a parody of any region in particular in the US. Rather, it’s a parody of Suburban America in the 20th Century. Characters in Dearcy are cookie cutter, archetypal
good-upbringing guys and gals.
MUDKEECH
Mudkeech’s environment is the complete opposite of Dearcy’s. It’s all muddy, washed, and full of hopeless and intimidating people. The closest place and era I can compare this to is New Orleans weeks after Hurricane Katrina.
CHERRY & BLUE
This is the only area in the game that isn’t a fictitious version of any real-world locations. It is an environment with a color scheme, both built around male and female companionship.
PEARCH ROAD
Pearch Road is a fictional version of US Route 66 and the ghost town Glenrio, formerly Rock Island, located at the state line of New Mexico and Texas. This abandoned pitstop town is the perfect picturesque example of the environment and setting I was aiming for when making Pearch Road. Although the name “Pearch” in some applications is a variant of the word or surname “Perch”, in this game, the name is actually a combination of “Peach” referring to the color and “Parch” referring to the texture of the terrain.
REBELLINE
Rebelline is a fictional version of the Great Basin in the US, except its PURPLE. There are purple snow and ice sheets in the map, since the Great Basin in real life is classified as a cold desert.
SEADRIVE
Seadrive is the only speedboat level in the game.
HEARTSVULLE
Heartsvulle is SORT OF a parody to Louisville, Kentucky, from the way the name is pronounced, down to the spirit of the city. But Heartsvulle looks nothing like Louisville as it is fully hot pink in color with forests, rocky hills, and prairies.
JESSIX
Jessix is a stereotypical Wild West town in the fictional version of the Sonoran Desert.
ROBIN WINTERS
Robin Winters is fictionally inspired by the Arctic region of the planet. The name suggests that the area is a wintery and outlaw-ish, Robin Hood type of environment.
ROAST COAST
Possibly one of the COOLEST names for an area in any video game, it is a fictional version of the Pacific Coast in California. Since the coast in real life is pretty rugged in terrain and has had neighboring wildfires in the area, it was the perfect candidate to draw inspiration from.
DEEP DRENCHES
Deep Drenches is a fictional version of the Pacific Ocean.
SUNSCREAM
Sunscream is a chaotic sky level just before Magmarvelous that contains a lot of bullet hell action.
MAGMARVELOUS/BIPOLAR HELLFIRE
Technically this place is called the Bipolar Hellfire. It is located in the middle of the sea where blue and red magma come together to form Hyperbirths. Magmarvelous is a nickname given to this are thanks to its molten wonderland views. It’s boasts picturesque magma waterfalls, lava seas, whirlpools, geysers, flames, and a cocktail of red, orange, and blue pebbly terrain.
Magmarvelous was first created in Toon Villain in a 2.5D setting. It also makes an appearance in Painger as a fully 3D playable area not confined to restrictive camera angles. There’s also a section of Magmarvelous with blue fire, magma, and terrain present in Killemony and Painger. It lacks an appearance in Toon Villain, instead being replaced by the Hyperbirth Underbelly, the origin place for the game’s most powerful item, the “Hyperbirth.”
KILLVENT AND THE HYPERBELLY
The name of the area in the game is called Killvent, which serves as the final level and boss. But the area it is built on top of is called the Hyperbelly. Unlike in Toon Villain, you won’t be able to physically immerse inside the underbelly.
WEAPONS
Originally in the alpha version of Killemony, guns were bought and only added damage buffs to one player gun. This was incredibly uninspiring and problematic to me. I took a little break and played some games. At the time, this was the only way I could make every gun in the game useful.
Thanks to 2 games in particular, I realized how much better the weapon upgrade system could be. Those games were Too Many Weapons on Roblox and Bloons Tower Defense 6 from Ninja Kiwi. Too Many Weapons’ array of weapons to use, BTD6’s monkey tower upgrade system, and my original vision of making every gun useful in the game inspired me to create a very creative upgrading system for weapons in Killemony. Now every gun in the game is useful in some fashion. In order to reach the final gun in the game, you must upgrade EVERY GUN in a pyramid chain along with sufficient Nuggets in order to receive the Holystrike gun.
There are currently 200+ guns, 2 Knives, and 2 explosives planned for Killemony’s weapon upgrading system. For guns, there are 7 tiers:
Base
Base guns are the original or standard version of a gun, or carbine versions of existing rifles, and they can be found across the Killemony world and picked up for use. Base guns cannot be purchased, and all base guns, except for MP5 and MPX, are not fully automatic. Some guns however, such as Glock, can have an auto-sear accessory added to them.
II
A secondary gun can be an upgraded version of a previous gun, a carbine, an original long gun version of a carbine, or any gun that can be combined fictionally with another gun without fully automatic firing.
III
Tertiary is any gun that is factory fully automatic. Carbines don’t exist in this tier.
Molten
Molten guns fire bullets that are made of magma. They usually have red tints to the skin of the gun.
Golden
These guns fire gold bullets and are gold-plated.
Plasma
Plasma guns fire plasma and are neonic.
DEMON
Demon guns are any gun that shoots dark matter or has demonic firing. The body of the guns are very dark in color.
GOD
GOD guns fire a blast of pure light and are white in color. The only GOD guns that exist in Killemony are Holystrike and Godslaughter. Holystrike can be achieved by upgrading every DEMON tier gun, while the Godslaughter can be achieved by purchasing it for R$599. Godslaughter is the most powerful gun in the game, dealing 10k more damage than the second most powerful gun, the Holystrike.
Robux Exclusive
Nugx (R$999)
Turns every enemy and prop you shoot into nuggets once destroyed. It is very overpowered, which justifies the high price-point.
RPG-7 ($379)
Explodes anything you shoot at with a 20-Stud diameter explosion.
Premium Exclusive
Cheat Knife
If you run out of ammo for your gun, your player will automatically switch to using a knife or melee weapon. If you have Cheat Knife equipped, you can damage ANY enemy with one stab.
Badges
Killemony is quite different from other games on Roblox when it comes to badges. In Killemony, badges are reserved for the hardest of tasks to complete in the game, which shows me as a developer how dedicated you are to the game. Killemony is also one of the few intentional games on Roblox that doesn’t immediately reward you with a welcome badge for joining the game. There use to be badges of all tiers that were planned for the game, but now the game exclusively rewards diamond tier badges.
Bonus Events
SHOWER HOUR
This event happens every Saturday from 2-3pm EST. You wouldn’t want to miss this moment every time it comes. It’s a great opportunity to collect as much loot as you can falling from the sky. If you’re really lucky, you may even grab a few rare items, such as a rainbow nugget. Although the mythical Rainbow Unicorn Nugget is an extremely scarce sight, during Shower Hours, it is 10x as likely to appear, since they love to dance in loot showers.
