Last double check on copyright

Hi,
These 4 free models in my game are the only models I can think of having any possibility of being copyrighted in some way (even if slightly). Can anyone give insight to whether any of these would have any copyright conflictions? (Personally I dont see how they could as the real life versions are either historic or just random textures (the rug))
(Should be 4 images)
Thanks

Depending on where you got them from, they could be copyrighted. Whoever made them could copyright them, doesnā€™t matter if itā€™s based on real life stuff. I would check where they are from but if you canā€™t do that, just remove them.

I thought everything put on the toolbox is classed as a free model since its been put out to the public. How would this be the case? cheers

Yes but not 100% of time is the uploader really the owner of these assets.

(Stolen gameā€™s assets by exploiters etc.)

Thereā€™s a chance that free models can be copyright violations depending on who uploaded it. Free models are tricky business related to that if someone uploads copyrighted materials. I personally avoid free models.

Meaning someone designed that for their own game, and someone stole it and published it? (Just seen your edit)

Yes basically you donā€™t have any information, if the owner of these assets is really the one who created them so yes you can possibly get copyrighted.

Thanks both for your help, il maybe contact those who did publish it and judge whether they are the legit makers themselves, if not il remove it. Thanks!

Ps. if something like that were to happen, do you get a warning and a chance to remedy it (especially if you were unaware) Or could your game get taken down instantly?

Secondly ive just thought, this wont apply to paintings will it? As the original person who actually imported it doesnā€™t own this medeival painting (and for the same reason it is too old to have copyright protection) So really it is just the things that have clearly been made by users right?

Your game will most likely get down instantly.

Real owner of assets can copyright you for everything even for painting.

Really? So someone can copyright you because they downloaded a medeival painting off of google images and put it on a Part?

Yes that is pretty much possible.

Hmm, why do I see everywhere then that if its on the toolbox, its public domain and therefore not even credit is required (however reccomended)? - Surely a person that does that then uploads it acknowledges this and canā€™t file anything?

For example search ā€œBGS Pet packā€ I highly doubt that some developer from Bubble Gum Simulator
gave these assets to toolbox. They are stolen assets and when you use them in your game owner of these assets have full rights to ā€˜DMCAā€™ you and your game will be lost.

Right I see, so everything im insure of got to make sure the original owner posted it. thanks

Wait hold on sorry. So what stops someone from going ā€˜Yeah you can use it sureā€™ Then makes a map, puts that same model into their map and publishes it, and then goes ā€˜I never said that and you are using models from my gameā€™?

My recommendation is use community resources from Developer forum because you are almost 100% sure that the real owner is the poster compared to toolbox.

Yeah I might use a mixture of that and endorsed models, thanks
