Latency on 2 Factor Auth emails is very high

Reproduction Steps

1. Turn on email 2 fac on your account
2. Log out
3. Clear cookies
4. Log in
5. Go to your email to await arrival of security code
6. Start to think website is broken or you have the wrong email associated with you account because the email takes multiple minutes to appear

Expected Behavior

Every other site with email 2 fac gets this email sent instantly (try Steam, for instance)

Actual Behavior

The website appears broken and I start panic logging into my other email addresses because I can’t remember the email on my Roblox account to see if the code is there. Then I start writing a panic-ed email to support about getting back into my account that I get halfway through writing before the 2fac email shows up.

Alternate workaround: Enable app based two factor authentication.

Please be aware that email based 2FA is not acceptable for account rollback and where possible users should upgrade to app based 2FA for best security. This has been policy for over a year, users was notified back in Dec 8 2021

Except they word it as a recommendation NOT a requirement. So i used 2SV via email and lost millions to a hack because they worded it incorrectly.

We believe we have since resolved the issue with 2SV email delays. Please let us know here if you are still experiencing issues.
