Introduction
This started happening today. This happens 100% of the time.
When leaving the first-person view while wearing layered clothing, the character becomes completely invisible locally, and the transparency of all the body parts is unchanged (0 - visible).
This issue is not related to any of my scripts in-game, it also happens in a new empty baseplate.
This happens only in Studio, it did not happen when I tested it in-game:
Proof of it working in-game:
Videos and Images of the issue:
Without Layered Clothing (Expected Behavior):
With Layered Clothing (Actual Behavior):
Reproduction Steps
- Put some layered clothing items on your avatar.
- Create a new empty baseplate.
- Play the game.
- Wait for your avatar to render.
- Enter first-person view (zoom in)
- Exit first-person view (zoom out)
Your character should now be invisible locally as seen above.
Expected Behavior
When the player exits the first-person view (while having layered clothing Items on the avatar or not), the character is expected to be visible again in Third person view (See video without layered clothing above)
Actual Behavior
When the player exits the First-Person view while having layered clothing Items on the avatar, the character remains invisible locally (visible to other players but not self).
The transparency of all the body parts is unchanged (0 - visible), yet the character is still invisible even after tinkering with the Transparency properties.
Workaround: I assume the issue is related to the LocalTransparencyModifier since the transparency of the character parts remains 0.
Theoretically, one could detect when a player leaves first-person mode and set them all back to 0.
