I’m currently developing a game that will use R15 man and roblox boy models for characters and want to create layered clothing for cosmetics instead of 2d clothing because i like the look. The problem is that the mesh used in the blender fule for layered clothing is an rthro one and clothing created with it does not look perfect on the boy or man bundle.
At first I thought it was impossible to use a custom cage until recently i saw these in the marketplace:
These clothes were made to specifically fit man/boy rigs perfectly without unwanted stretching meaning that it is possible. What i want to know is how they did it. I tried contacting the creator but he has not responded yet after 4 months.
They are using block rig cages. Follow the same process for making layered clothing, except model the clothing around the shape of the block avatar cage. You can acquire the block rig cages with the blender plugin “Roblox Toolbox”.
THANK YOU, i been looking for an answer for months now, im actually almost done with creating my own cage from the rthro cage manually but ill still try this first to see if it works fine enough for my game. Thanks again i really appreciate it.
One more thing, part of the process requires me to rig and weight the clothing to an armature. Do i use the default rthro bone rig or does the toolbox plugin come with the armature?
The plugin includes armatures for all of the rigs shown in the previous screenshot. The button to import them is in the same menu as importing the cages, its right beside the cages button
