Layered Clothing on R6 Characters

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
Use layered clothing from the marketplace on R6 avatars.
  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
Layered clothing is not compatible with R6 avatars normally, but I’ve seen it being used in games such as Deepwoken. (First 2 screenshots are from my game’s testing place, 3rd screenshot is from Deepwoken)

  1. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?
None, but if I can’t find any better solutions my plan is to use an r15 avatar but create animations that look like r6.

from what i’ve seen, i don’t think deepwoken got real ‘layered clothing’ to work on r6 characters.

it’s more likely that they made clothing meshes that were tailored to the r6 body and welded them to the character.

It’s (maybe, I’m just making assumptions) an issue related to Motor6D having different offsets on R15 and R6.
Roblox was too ‘lazy’ to implement layered clothing to R6 since compatibility problems I mentioned and because that you can’t use Layered Clothing on R6.

So, you could just do the following:

Get a mesh and weld it to the R6 Character, If you know how, you may also include mesh deformation (even if its lesser bc, it’s R6).

You could use a fake r6 that’s really a r15 rig in disguise.

I was thinking that but I wanted to see if there were any other solutions, I’ll probably just end up doing this.

That might be the case, thank you.

This is probably the issue, but I think I’ll stick to the solution of using a fake R6 rig. Thanks for your response.
