Had fun playing this yesterday. Does a good job making boat on boat combat feel epic.
It’s also is off the charts in terms of money per user that it makes - More Game Passes for le bote - Roblox

the name of the game bothers me because bote isn’t even french for boat
I thought that too! But it turns out bote is spanish for boat!
oh wow. that doesn’t change the fact that “le” is not spanish for “the”

The thumbnail kinda drove me away when I saw it. However, after playing, I am now addicted!

yeah it’d be el bote or something haha
le bateau would sound so much better though
I have a love/hate relationship for this game. On one end, I can’t stand it because the only real gameplay is pressing a button and firing your weapons. The only choices you have are what ships you use, and what modules you put on your ships. There’s really only one track of progression, all of which is automatic and involves no input from the player. There’s no currency for unlocking modules or ships, or really any options at all - until you actually get the next ship/part.
So I often find myself grinding down the same track that everyone else is, and the only way I would feel unique is if I bought a pass that colored my ship, or gave me something special.
On the other hand, I love this game because it’s the only module-based naval combat game that I’ve ever played since NavyField. (Massive pile of dongs created by the even larger pile of dongs, Nexon) I really enjoy customizing my ship and making choices that would better prepare me for different situations. (aircraft, subs, enemy vessels) But man, this game could be so much better.
A tech tree with a couple lines of different ship hulls (with unique module hardpoints) would be absolutely outstanding. Making the progression allow for the spending of experience/research on new modules instead of automatically unlocking it would be even better. (It would also increase the lifespan of the game) I want to make more decisions in this game. I want more options. Because options make the player feel like they’re in more control over their game experience, and right now le bote is a one-way track.
If anything can be done to make the firing mechanics more interesting than pressing a button, that would be an added bonus. But overall, I believe the flaw in this game is the way players progress and upgrade their ships. I look forward to any improvements made to the game otherwise, because it has a lot of potential.
I sort of wasted all my money on gamepasses here…

I just thought he wanted to say “The Boat” in a funny way… “Le Bote”

And that will be put to good use! (On More Gamepasses or maybe some sounds for Flip.)

Yup! Except Roblox got greedy in between and took 30% of the original 30% we meant to give him.
The name doesn’t really mean anything. Just something I made up in 10 seconds. Kind of wished I thought it through more now, so people wouldn’t call it “lay bootie”
And Gus, I had originally planned to do the research and a lot more, but in the interest of time I dumbed it down and make it more simple, also hoping that it would become more popular since I have never had much luck with making complex games popular.
I’m going all-out on the tech tree and everything on my next game, though. Hopefully. If college doesn’t consume my life. Had snow days for two weeks, so that’s why le bote happened.
I call it ‘the bute’ (would sound like but-ty if you were to pronounce it) because sandwiches make me hungry :S
