Learning Roblox Lua for 30 days!

Hey! I am Radulo and I’ve just started learning Roblox Lua! So far I am 4 days into scripting and I know some basics like: Variables, Properties, Functions, Events, If Then Else Functions and some other small stuff! My plan is to learn it for 30 days and then start coding myself!

Here is what I did from day 1 to day 4.

I am having a lot of fun with it! Do you guys have any tips for me?

My tip is just to keep at it, and you will master it in no time!

After you are done learning all the fundamentals, like a beginner’s scripting YouTube playlist, try to make your own game. It doesn’t have to be complex. You’ll learn to make a shop system, a round system, how to make a coin play a sound when you touch it, how to teleport players, touch events, and other things that will make you feel comfortable when making a game.

Try to challenge yourself. It forces you to look up how to do “this” and you’ll learn a lot along the way.

2 things:

  1. We can’t give much feedback without code. It looks like you are doing a good job though for only 4 days.
  2. If you plan on getting the code reviewed, put the post in #help-and-feedback:code-review. This doesn’t really belong in #help-and-feedback:scripting-support right now because there’s no problem that you need support with.

You have made some pretty good progress for only 4 days into learning Lua. Next, I recommend you start learning:

And the most important thing is to not stress out about this, and make sure you are familiar with all concepts before learning more advanced concepts.
