Day 1
Built a low-poly house.
Pretty basic and not without flaw, but I think that it’s alright for my first attempt.
Let me know any feedback, I will be updating this thread whenever I make new models.

Looks really nice! Its very cartoony as i can see, maybe work on the textures other than that its great
That actually good on your fist day of modelling.
The first time i modelled something it look horrible but i see your doing just fine.
keep up the good work mate.
Thanks! Anything specific about the texturing? I wasn’t that focused on the textures as in the game that this is used for the player can edit the color, rendering textures useless.
This is what the default colors will be (if you were curious):
Well in example I think that the stairs should get just a simple gray texture, maybe just a bit of gradient instead of the on you used!
The house turned out super nice and I’m genuinely impressed! It’s been a hot minute since I modelled anything, but my only suggestion - and this is a longterm one - is that gradients ≠ cartoony. It works on some things and not others.
Also, the house looks a little bit squashed, but you can fix that by using the scale option in Roblox Studio and upsizing on the Y axis.
It’s so cool! The polygons are evenly shaded, the colors are nice. The overall build is very cool!
A few months and you’ll be a pro!
Pretty cool model, remember to keep practicing and always try new things!
That looks really cool!
What do you use to create your models?
Blender!
Nice work! Here’s a quick tip.
When making models for ROBLOX, You will want to flip the normal of your mesh before importing it to ROBLOX, Ever noticed when your model is imported to ROBLOX that 1/2 of it goes missing, and then you have to use the Double Sided Option?
This is due to some of the normal of the mesh facing the inside of the object, (They are the wrong way round in simple terms) Using double sided is not the end of the world, but it does impact performance, as ROBLOX basically doubles the faces of your mesh, which impacts performance especially if you move onto higher poly meshes.
You can learn more here : Flip Normals (inverted faces) – Blender Knowledgebase
Good luck with your future models! You’re on for a great start!
When you shade smooth you should make sure that your normals are also smoothed. The weird effects with lighting/shading are likely due to this. Shade Smooth Fix in Blender - YouTube
I’ve never had this happen to me, but thanks for the advice!
yo. too much gradient, the tiny trees make the house look massive, the modelling is too smooth in places where it shouldn’t be, the house does NOT have a back for some reason (you only modelled the front)? and the window gradient doesn’t fit and the blue door on the second floor isn’t great, chimney should be straight, windows on the sides maybe also? good job ig
Thanks for the feedback!
Gradients were just for the purposes of me modelling it, in the game I am using it for it won’t have a gradient.
The second house is meant to look massive (small bushes were intentional).
The blue door is glass it’s meant to be like a little balcony.
The houses don’t have a back because I didn’t know what to put on them . I figured that players wouldn’t see the back in game anyway.
Smooth surfaces and the crooked chimney were to give it a cartoony look.
What should I make next? I’m out of ideas!
A potted plant with a daisy?
Or you can try making a playground
