I’m curious on how I can learn to use things like mathmatical formulas in my scripting, because right now it all feels incredibly overwhelming, anybody got any ideas how I can work myself into it? Just for reference the projectile motion calculations in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dt-Ab8czPw&list=PLQ1Qd31Hmi3WKkVHnadvhOOjz04AuMYAf&index=38 felt wildy overwhelming.
Are you wanting to learn physics in roblox? As in AlignOrientation
e.t.c? Or are you talking about more general physics?
The video you provided is talking mostly about physics objects inside roblox, not general physics.
I wanna learn how to actually apply things like physics formulas in roblox of my own volition.
Well it depends on what you want to make. What do you want to make? Look up if other people have done it, look at YouTube videos, dev forum posts, official roblox developer tutorials.
If you have particular questions you can also ask here. A good question to ask yourself is what is your goal? You need to have a goal to learn what you need.
Well, to start then, I guess get the grasp of basic physics first, if you don’t know the basics, you won’t really be able to progress. So I guess start watching videos on youtube about physics and the math behind it. When you think you understand some concepts, try to implement them inside roblox, for example, a custom gravity simulation that doesn’t use roblox’s default physics system.
If you need to google something, google it, if you need help, ask people here. I guess just start and work your way up.
nice job copying my message fr
I mean, your talking about the end goal, while I said start off with basics, I don’t see the correlation.
End goal with what he wants to learn?? He needs to know what he wants to do in order to learn what he needs to learn.
That could be done after grasping the basics, knowing the fundamentals will always help if your stuck on a problem.
I also suggested that. There is a lot to learn in this type of thing, having a clear vision could help. It’s okay though, you did have a good response.
I recommend you pick up some second-hand study books for mathematics / physics! It’s been many many years since I graduated high school/sixth form, so recently I actually picked up some second hand maths study books to brush up on my knowledge. I haven’t done much in-depth mathematics in a long time and I don’t wanna become stoopid - plus I’m finding they’re becoming more useful as I get into programming VFX and physics stuff.
