Let users enable/disable most site-wide banner notifications

For the 437193832197th time Roblox, I know there’s a virtual concert about to go on. This is intrusive as I know that there’s going to be an event about to go on in 7 hours. If users already know that a virtual event is about to commence, then there should be an option to enable/disable most site-wide banner notifications.

By “most site-wide banner notifications”, I mean by promotional banner notifications. Notifications that are related to site issues should stay there as it’s helpful for users to see if the website is being sluggish.

This would be a lot nicer for the user’s experience if this was implemented. If users already know that an event is going to happen soon, then why place this up?

Being able to completely disable notifications ends up defeating the point of these in the first place. Perhaps it would be better to give users the option to close notifications? Something like this would allow Roblox to promote a sponsored event while still giving the user an option to dismiss it:

I don’t care about the concert, it isn’t relevant to me. The banner is obtrusive, takes up space on every page, and distracts me, especially on the develop page (bright orange banner!).

It’s the same on the mobile app, and when using a desktop site on your mobile to configure your places (no support to configure them on mobile otherwise to my knowledge) it gets in the way.

I don’t want to adblock the banner because I find maintenance or platform outage announcements useful. Being able to press an “x” to permanently close it, or disable sponsor banners in my notification settings would solve this problem.
