I need to edit the light influence of the chat billboard above the player’s head. How can I do this?
Uhm, it should be in the billboard properties, check that, unless you want to edit this in a script and change it:
Billboard.LightInfluence = 0
I think that might be right ^ (idk for sure)
I know how to set the property of a billboard gui, thanks. I am asking how to do this with the chat billboard. I don’t know how it would be possible to because I don’t see any chat modules in PlayerModule and I’m pretty sure Roblox said developers aren’t able to access or edit properties that aren’t customizable under textchat service, but I really need to modify my light influence because it phases through parts.
Oh I’m sorry I didnt see, I can try to look into this.
Good boy, gosh you’re such a good boy. Also I just want to fix this: if there’s another solution other than LightInfluence (which I’m not 100% sure is the cause) please let me know.
I can’t tell if it’s under something or not, maybe AlwaysOnTop?? Idk
Yea, but the problem is I can’t figure out how to edit the chat billboard.
Its supposed to be above the layered water, but the water goes over it for some reason.
Is the game camera set so it’s above the player? If it is it’s probably because of the position of the bubble.
Not sure what you mean, the water just always goes above
Maybe it’s a problem with the water? If you want to edit the chat bubble it’s a whole process of customizing it I can send you a video…
If it’s the water maybe look into properties where the water could be overlapping the bubble.
^^ would also be nice to know what object the water is.
for the 99th time said in devforum history, this is a glitch with roblox engine with any type of billboard ui instance. not fixable. maybe edit your water. not sure alwaysontop works either, but you can insert one in studio and turn it on to see.
Blud. Really? Why the rude tone.
Anyways, it’s not a glitch with ANY type of billboard UI instance since you see the billboard above me that doesn’t have the bug blud. It only happens with chat
I wasn’t trying to come off rude but this problem has just been discussed a lot of times.
in that case, yes, it could be chat not having always on top. if you turn off always on top on your current billboard, does it also have the same bug as water?
Erm vro, when I turn the light influence to 0, some of the billboards go under, some still stay on top idk, it a “oh! i figured it out! … nevermind, it didn’t work with this one.” ahh situation, you fw what im saying schlawg (fw means frick with btw)
so does alwayson top prevent it?r6266
Blud… I just said no, it does not, but light influence sometimes does.
you said light influecne, not alwayps top on
wym blud i said light influence fr why u trippin jit
I am aware.
In your overhead BillboardUI instance, there should be a property called, “AlwaysOnTop.” Does enabling this prevent the bug completely?
