I want to make it so that no more or at least little light seeps through the corners and edges of my walls.
Light seeps through corners and edges of walls. I have encountered this before and I don’t know why it’s a thing.
I can’t get 1 straight answer that I can use. I can’t exactly make the walls thick like some people say so I don’t know what to do.
This is what it looks like:
If players won’t be going outside, then you might be able to place a large block over the top that’s not visible through the windows, but casts a shadow over the roof. The problem is that it’d still cast a shadow on the landscape unless made subtle. If the building needs to be seen from outside too, then the only suggestion I can make is a script which makes thick walls appear when a player enters the building and disappear when they leave.
Sadly, it’s a bug with roblox’s lighting engine that’s always been a problem. If you’re not on “Future” lighting technology, then maybe try experimenting if that fixes it, but I don’t really know if it will. You may have to fiddle with lighting settings to change the Ambient stuff such that it doesn’t change the colour of things outdoors too much relative to indoors.
I am using “Future” lighting technology because it provides more accurate and better lighting usually. I will still keep this topic unsolved for now but will mark either your reply or another reply as the solution at some point between now and possibly a few days depending.
I’m a bit nervous about submitting a bug report because it may have been covered already and I don’t want to waste the time of Roblox staff, especially if there could be consequences for doing so. I have encountered a few bugs before but haven’t said much. One being where I set 2+ roles in a group I own to have the same rank (1) and at some point the other one became the default role of the group and I don’t know why.
