Lighthouse Showcase | Feedback

I’ve posted various stages of this process awhile ago, but I took a long break from this and it remained unfinished for a good amount of time.

Anyway, I woke up today and decided I wouldn’t rest until it was finished, so here it is:

I’m looking for criticisms on what could be improved or could be done differently, as well as compliments on what I’ve done well and should continue to do.

It is finished but I’m willing to alter a few things, but I’m mainly looking for what to continue into future projects and what to leave behind in this one.

Thank you for reading, checking out my showcase and hopefully leaving some feedback

:hushed: That looks really good! Only Suggestion is that you change the top of the light house glass color to something a little lighter.

That seems really obvious now that you mention it, I’ve gone ahead and done that, thanks!

I should’ve probably also built the actual light inside of there, but I didn’t…

oh well!

I added rocks to the base because yknow, that makes sense

The color of this door looks odd, a grey tower having this vibrant color looks unfitting;
The fences too.

You could try to making it stormy by changing the Skybox, wavespeed, wave height etc.
Adding the “light” would also complete the tower.
Great lighthouse overall.

Thanks man, couple things:

1: this is a recreation of a real life lighthouse, see: La Jument - Wikipedia

While I admit the colours exactly may be too bright, they are accurate to the lighthouse it’s self. I’ll make the colours slightly darker, though.

2: I added a little scripted light, which spins but doesn’t look fancy. I’ll build that if I ever feel like it.

3: no clue how to edit wave speed… got it

oh and thank you

Too grey, I’d say. A subtle beige-grey would look more aesthetically pleasing and colourful, as well as matching the stimulus material.

There’s also a discrepancy on the door – see the wedges on the right-hand side.

Nice lighthouse.

I’m terrible with colours, but I’ve made the brighter ones match the darker ones, as well as darked the ocean a little, and I think I fixed the door thing, thank you

Nice job, the lighting goes well with the scene. However, I’d recommend of making the light a block spinning, change it into an actual light. Overall great work!

I really liked this build! My only two suggestions is a bit nit picky but I believe would help. Removing the decal from the top of the spawn point is something not too important but something that seemed out of place and not needed. Also, pulling the amount of light given off by the light not so harsh to where it turns the blocks that it’s facing white. Other than that, this was a really good build, great job!

I think adding the lighthouse on a small island with the rocks around it, perhaps a pier would make it look even more amazing

Well designed!

I recommend adding a broken dock at the bottom where the rocks are and create a staircase going up towards the base of the lighthouse,

Would recommend trying out with lighting and fog too? I feel like this is the only thing missing from the build but overall is so pretty
