Currently, to use the collaborators part of Game Settings (in Permissions), you need to enable Team Create for your game.
I would like to be able to add a specific user in that collaborators area, and give them permission to visit the place from the website. That way, they can use Roblox Player rather than Studio, and I can join them too, and it Just Works™. No complex workarounds, for myself or the friend.
I propose a feature that lets you add collaborators to your game, even without Team Create. Perhaps in a limited fashion, but at least giving a specific user permission to visit the place, even if it’s private and Team Create is disabled.
Right now, there are a few ways to give a specific user access to your place:
-
Send them the rbxl file and have them open it in Studio. You can’t join them. (Well, you kind of can if they open a port and start a server and you do arcane magic to convince your Studio to connect to that server, but I digress!)
-
Enable Team Create, add them as a collaborator and start a team test. You would join them in that case, but they still have to open up Studio and such.
-
Make your place open to all friends, or even the public, and add some script that kicks anyone that isn’t yourself or your friend. They can join it from the website and so can you, but other players on Roblox see your game and that they get kicked on entry (rather than being denied permission by the server).
