Limiting AI Moderation to 1 day bans

I’ve gotten 3 warnings on a single day because one of my car’s symbol-maps contained a signature :skull:

And can we PLEASE GET SOME DEVELOPER PRIORITY WHEN IT COMES TO THIS MODERATION?

It’s important to note that while there are many comments on this thread about how developers shouldn’t get better treatment, you also need to take into account that larger developers upload 10-20x, if not more, the content that regular users or hobbyists do, also having money attached to the games they create - There really has to be some sort of quality assurance in that regard, as a developer can’t just let their account “cool down” if it’s gotten a restriction. A 3-day ban is not a death sentence to a regular user, but it can be a developer. It costs us real money, often.

I have had my modeler get banned multiple times for uploading assets directly to our game. Roblox’s automation will pick up on the names of textures, random pixels, heck… When making a supermarket game we were moderated for having nutrition facts on the back.

Roblox has practically given developer’s PTSD knowing that if they’re making a large-scale game there is a chance half of their developer team will be wiped out by content deletion and small temporary bans. It is insidious.

Roblox likes to pretend they’re a “Real” game engine for “Real” games and “Real” developers these days, but they’ve failed to update how they deal with their userbase in a way that actually allows that to happen in any way.

I’m out here wondering why a competitor of mine literally got away with scamming likely millions of robux out of their users, in part because of roblox’s terrible moderation policies, (They put a game under ‘pending review’ but then allowed the developer to re-upload it rather than appealing, with anything prior purchased being permanently gone because of that), but you’re telling me my perfectly legitimate development operations of which I’m spending huge amounts of time and resources into… that’s what gets moderation?

I have complained about roblox moderation for over 10 years and I won’t stop until something actually happens. Nothing ever happens though, it’s always the same low bar.

Stock holders don’t care about diarrhea on the platform they fund, but boy do they love automation. Unacceptable, as always.

Hey roblox, can you and your assinine moderation policies deal with THIS maybe instead of ABUSING your actual audience???

Shame. Shame is the only thing roblox should feel about it’s state of moderation. Pathetic shame.

Thousands of people being actively manipulated right now, and Roblox is slow & excessively lenient. This is something I saw on the front home page. There is no way moderation could not know about this.

scamming isn’t allowed anywhere however it still exists
nobody is saying anything about the millions of children being manipulated on other platforms, are they? this is not to say the moderation team is doing their job, but it’s impossible to completely prevent this type of stuff

I struggle to find any articulated point in your response here. No offense. It feels like a non-sequitur.

i dont think its a non-sequitur
lots of these games exist and its impossible to get rid of all of them on a daily basis

ok?.. And?..

It’s a non sequitur if it has no point. This is a thread talking about Roblox moderation, and it’s extreme lack; Not a global politics thread.

Nobody is saying to get rid of “all of them”. This is a game with 3.8 million plays and 600+ active players on the front page.

Getting rid of it is widely considered a bare minimum in effort.
There is no reason to mention literally anything you have mentioned.

do you not realize many more of these exist on the front page and beyond
they may not involve robux but other in-game items or accessories
they also have the same if not larger stats than the one you mentioned

Okay?.. Thanks for the comment I guess.

This could have been a more neutral addition to the conversation about how Roblox’s inadequate moderation goes farther than we think, but instead it feels like an awkward call-out where you’re stating information that supports what I said as if it’s contrary to what I said.

Yes. Roblox moderation bad. That’s kind of the point of the topic indeed. You discovered the point of the topic - Congratulations.

I still don’t understand the purpose of your responses to me. It might be best if you just call it a night.

Personally, I have not seen what you describe, but if it’s as bad as you think by all means please share that information, your experience, and how it has impacted you - It’s good information, but not in the way you’re wielding it currently. “Scamming isn’t allowed anywhere and also did you know there’s even more scamming than you think?” just feels like a weird series of replies here.

Mind telling me what the terroristic part of that image is, or the part of that image is that makes it a real life tragedy? Nobody died and nobody blew up as far as I know

Also, I once was BANNED FOR 1 DAY for making a server-side script builder (So I could easily run code in my own games to test them)…

Someone did die, actually. The event itself does count as a real life tragedy since its a real image from that event from someone committing a heinous act of violence. If AI moderation detected that, I’m impressed because it’s not one of the more well known photographs from July.

(btw, I’m not even making any direct reference to that “event” as I’m replying to this comment due my own uncertainty how sensitive moderation on the Dev forum can be)
