Localized Experience Info Not Displayed on Website

Reproduction Steps (TL:DR)

  1. Go to a localized experience (e.g. mine https://www.roblox.com/games/443406476/).
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of the webpage.
  3. Change language to simplified Chinese by selecting “中文(简体)” from the dropdown.
  4. View at Roblox website in Chinese, but game info (thumbnail, name, description) still in English.

Reproduction Steps (Full)

  1. Navigate to an experience and configure localization (either through old Localization menus or through Creator, https://create.roblox.com/creations/experiences/169302362/localization/translation).
  2. Select a language to localize for.
  3. Localize game info, e.g. localize name, description, upload localized thumbnail(s), icon.
  4. Navigate to game page.
  5. Change site language to the localized language by scrolling to the bottom.
  6. See that the game info is not localized.

  • Platform Type: Mac
  • Device Type: Computer

Expected Behavior
When the site is set to another language, the localized game info should be shown on the website.

Actual Behavior
The original (non-localized) thumbnails are displayed when the site is set to another language.

Here you can see my default game page in English (source language).

I will be showing Chinese (Simplified) localization in this example. However, this occurs regardless of language.

I have uploaded localized thumbnails that have been approved.

The name and description of the game have also been localized from the source language (English).
Name

When viewing the site in Chinese (Simplified), the site text is displayed in the correct language. But the specific game info is not. Note the game name, description, and thumbnail.

Note that on the game page, this only affects the game info. The game products (badges and passes) are correctly localized.

Can confirm partially:

The icon is supposed to be translated, as is the game title, but neither are on the card. The actual game page is properly translated. (I did not translate the thumbnail shown.)

The icon it should show:

In Japanese the title does properly translate but the game icon doesn’t:

Again, the game page translates properly:

The icon it should show:

Thanks for the report! We’ll follow up when we have an update for you.

Hey there, do you know if the name and description issue is still happening for you? We’re fixing the thumbnail and icon issue right now.

The experience name and description are probably localized now. However, the localized thumbnails does not show.

It’s actually more broken, all 3 games with arrows at least should have a translated name, and they did before, but now they don’t:

We’re looking into this! I tried to repro this, and I think when I search for games, the search results show game tiles with translated names. But when I look at the game in my home page sorts, they don’t show translated names.

Can you confirm your repro steps?

Same results as you, Search displays translated titles but Home does not

I want to add that the search results show the localized experience names, but do not display the localized icons.

Hey there - I tried reproducing both the experience name/description and icon localization bugs and it looks like everything is working as expected now. Please let us know if you’re still experiencing any issues!
