The recommended section at the bottom of posts is great, but most of the time it will show posts that are several years old. Adding this will stop people from replying and necrobumping these posts, instead of just making a new post that can be more detailed and have a more focused discussion.
I’ve seen several other forum sites (not on Discourse platform) have this and it prevents a lot of unneeded discussion that could be put into into a more organized and modernized thread.
Agreed. For some reason everytime I try searching for posts I find a lot of outdated (2014-2015) stuff at the top - even just being able to toggle new to old or vise versa would be nice.
Yeah, I can’t say how many times I’ve somehow ended up on a old thread and had no idea it was nearly a year old - then bumped it because I didn’t know it was so old.
Discourse has the option already to lock threads after a certain amount of time with no posts being added, and it can also be set independently for each forum category. So it’s a possibility.
