Looking for a Programmer and/or Animator (UPDATED PAYMENT)

Alright so to keep it short, me and @Soundskull are in the process of creating an emulation of New York City. Called Auxium City, we are aiming to create a life simulation, but will have basis directly in ROBLOX’s economy, allowing product sales from other groups (like w/ clothing). This idea differs from most normal roleplaying/lifesim games, because of the game’s reliance on its players to bring the full experience to life. We are currently building the map, and it has taken 2 years so far to get to this position. All we need to go forward is a programmer, as we do not have experience with coding/animation. Staff in sound design is not necessary, as I do that myself.

What we have so far; Auxium City (WIP)

Current state of the game

Communication

  • Communication is top priority for the progress of this game. Disagreements are fully tolerated by both me and @Soundskull.

Payment

  • Payment will be based on Game Revenue (5% to Me, 15% to @Soundskull, 30% for programmer, 6% to animator as the animations are only needed for temporary payment)
  • Game revenue will come through a promotion system where groups can sell their products in-game through buying space (open for discussion in replies)
  • Developer team size will be based off of game’s growth (I don’t aim to go over 5-6 people on the team to keep communication steady)

Work hours

  • I’m very lenient on work hours, but it should be based on your dedication to the progress of the game
  • If you are not able to work at a certain time communicate to one of us, or me (I’m usually on) about your current situation.

Advertising

  • I plan on personally buying and creating ads for this game, will be helped by game’s revenue to create a cycle

The job (Programmer)

  • Create a system in which banks are able to be robbed, similar to Jailbreak
  • Create a car customization system (Limited to body and wheel color)
  • Allow buys such as Cars, social items and weapons (Cars will be bought from a dealership in the ‘Brooklyn’ section of the map, social items will be bought in ‘Times Sq’)
  • Weapon framework (Should be compatible with ‘A-Chassis’ by @SecondLogic)
  • Create an inventory system for personal buys in-game
  • Enter/Exit system for cars (Similar to Apocalypse rising)
  • Walking / running

Below can be completed in an update in the future

  • Program a home customization system (Based on 3story apartment models in the game)
  • (ADDING TO HOME CUSTOMIZATION) System where you can buy furniture from a store
  • Arrest system ?
  • Interactive mass transport / uber ? (Not sure about this one yet but it is possible)

The job of the animator will be to create animations for the following;

  • Weapon play (shooting/aiming, etc)
  • Car driving
  • Walking (Running anim will be RTHRO walking)

Contact me through Discord; clown#4975
Roblox PMs are open, requires a follow though.

I’m fully open to questions / criticism. Thank you in advanced.

14% Seems a little bit low for a programmer. Also, programmer and animator are different things. Programmers should get more in my opinion.

All of the developers are getting the same level of pay to allow the cycle of advertising / group attraction to grow. The pay is expected to change but the base is currently 14%

I forgot to add that, my bad lol

Well… Here is my critisim!

14% for a programmer and animator??? If anything, programmers should get at least 30%. For what you’re asking 14% won’t get a good programmer. Animators also shouldn’t get 14%. I’d say 10% for animators since it’s a one time job and won’t be adding new animations a lot. You could even do commisions for animators. I understand that you need a robux for advertisements, but the owner should be able to advertise the group with their own funds.

Also: if a programmer does animations too, raise pay to 35%. Your build looks amazing! Good luck on your game😁

Was pretty excited to apply until I saw 14%. I usually take 40% or more. There is also no guarantee that the game makes anything, and I’ve heard that type of monetization doesn’t make much at all. I highly recommend for you to gather more funds, increase percentage, or learning how to script/animate. Coding is a very valuable skill, and you can take more percentage from the game. Best of luck!

This is the total revenue of the game based on 1.9k R$ worth of ads. The pay rate is to fuel the ads and grow the game at the start, but will grow as the game’s popularity increases

How much robux do you have for ads?

Currently willing to spend up to 4500

So, let’s do the math. Let’s assume that revenue is directly proportional to how much you put in. We then get the equation 1900/4850 = 4500/x. This tells us that estimated game revenue is about 11,486 robux when you put in 4500. We know that you’re looking to hire 5-6 people, so we’ll also assume that the revenue not going back into the game is 84%, and the revenue going back into the game is 16%. Therefore, we now have only 1.8k robux to spend on adverts. See the problem here?

When i said

I didn’t mean that I was hiring them from the beginning (My mistake for not specifying properly). These people will be hired when the game is more successful through the ads (Given people are interested in selling their group products through the system). By then we will already have a fanbase and require less money for ads, allowing for more members (and/or higher pay percentage) for the team if we needed them.

So, how many people do you intend on hiring on launch?

Edit: Perhaps we should go into DMs to prevent spamming the post

I’d say a 8:1 ratio of percentage splitting for the programmer and the animator.

If you think, your project, you will do, I am volunteer to make animations for players, I often work on R15 NPCs for my animations!

Thing that gets me mad is he lowers it to 6%. And 14% was low. Look at this.

I lowered my own revenue to 5% to allow over double the original pay for the programmer.

Good luck finding a animator with this low % you basically give all % to programmers. It isn’t fair to other devs in your team.

The job does not require as much pay as coding the full framework for this game. It is entirely fair to give 30% of revenue to the programmer, as @Soundskull is currently in progress of getting into a college.

This job does not require as much time as coding.
