Sorry for my awkward post, but I’m currently developing a narrative game similar to my last, Confined.
I was wondering if there was anyone out there that would somehow be able to create a few family portraits for the
characters in the game, to make the house and the story feel a bit more alive.
Something along the lines of this, perhaps with fewer details.
If I were you I’d render a picture of the family in the classic roblox style then edit it with a filter or some other method to make it look like a painting.
We don’t want the classic blocky humanoids, as it’d break a lot of the immersion. Our build quality is nice enough to where things don’t look overly blocky , at least not to the same extent as roblox characters do.
Then I suggest finding an actual painting online and editing it to be more cartoony. From the pictures I don’t think painted renders of roblox characters would look that bad though?
You should be able to find a good ‘painting’ filter in a paint software that automatically makes photos appear painted. I’ve used this type of filter before but I don’t recall what software it was, maybe photoshop, but it’s probably available in many other paint programs also. Gimp has this filter, it’s not very good but maybe good enough.
All you do is apply the filter effect and it reduces the number of colors and makes the photo appear to have brush strokes. Probably exactly what you’re looking for.
